MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

Re: 2011 Museum Grounds Keeping
This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is between the City of Kent ("City") and Teamsters
Local Union No 117 ("Union") regarding the 2011 Museum Grounds Keeping This agreement is
not intended to be precedent setting or to supersede the terms of the Collective Bargaining
Agreement in any future circumstances unless mutually agreed to by the parties The parties
agree to the following
Effective upon signing of this agreement, the Greater Kent Historical Society will be
responsible for basic landscaping and maintenance of their grounds located at 855 E Smith
Street, Kent, WA 98030 Such maintenance includes mowing, weeding, leaf removal and
watering of the grounds to maintain a neat appearance The City will be responsible for all
other landscaping and maintenance which includes, but is not limited to, skilled technical
work (ex arborist, irrigation, herbicide/ pesticide spraying, etc )
In the event the Greater Kent Historical Society discontinues use of the building located at
855 E Smith Street, Kent WA 98030 or elects not to maintain mowing, weeding, leaf
removal or watering of the grounds, the Parties agree that the work will then be performed
by Teamsters Local 117 Bargaining Unit members
Any dispute as to the implementation of this agreement shall be handled in accordance with
the Parties' Collective Bargaining Agreement grievance and arbitration procedure
By signature below, the Parties agree that the above represents the Parties' full and entire
agreement with regard to this matter
