This Agreement is intended to amend the 2006-2008 Collective Bargaining Agreement and the MOU extending the Collective Bargaining Agreement (hereafter collectively referred to as "CBA") through December 31, 2010 between the City and the Union for the effective period and relate to the matters specified herein. Except as amended by this Agreement, the CBA and all City and department policies, procedures and practices shall remain in full force and effect. The parties agree to the following with regard to extension of the current CBA through 2011: 1. CBA Extension: The parties agree to extend the CBA through December 31, 2011. This Agreement shall further extend all MOUs through December 31, 2011; provided however, the furlough programs of the 2009 and 2010 MOUs including the Personal Day Off are expressly excluded from this MOU. Furthermore, if there is a conflict between this Agreement and the CBAs or MOUs, this Agreement shall control. 2. Successor CBA: The parties agree to commence negotiations in 2011 for a successor collective bargaining agreement to take effect January 1, 2012. 3. Wages: Members of the bargaining unit will not receive a cost of living adjustment for 2011 due to a negative CPI-W (Seattle - Tacoma - Bremerton index) for the period of July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010. 4. Medical insurance cost containment features: The medical insurance cost containment features proposed by the City are not incorporated in this MOU. 5. Uniform: During Labor Management meetings the parties agree to discuss the uniform contract and the equity between departments relating to the uniform options. 6. Museum Grounds kee ig_ng: During Labor Management meetings the parties agree to discuss the museum grounds keeping with the Kent Historical Society located at (855 E. Smith Street, Kent, WA 98030). 7. Alternative Work Schedule: The parties agree that members of the bargaining unit shall have access to the nine-eighty's (9/80`s) work schedule if the majority of the work group elects this option. This means the Parks City of Kent and Teamsters Local Union No. 117 Page 2 of 2 Department and Public Works Operations employees shall continue their 9/80's schedule. These alternative work schedules will remain in effect for the remainder of this Agreement unless they are modified by mutual agreement between the City and the Union through Joint Labor/Management Committee. With fourteen (14) calendar days' written notice, the City reserves its right to revert back to the normal five-eight's (5/8's) work schedule if issues of safety or departmental operating need arise to Justify such change. It is understood that the parties will revisit this issue during the negotiation of the successor Agreement.
