MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
BY AND BETWEEN THE
CITY OF KENT (CITY)
AND
WASHINGTON STATE COUNCIL OF COUNTY AND CITY EMPLOYEES,
AFSCME, AFL-CIO, LOCAL #2617 (UNION)
This Memorandum of Understanding memorializes the parties' agreement
regarding the implementation of a revision of the Holiday Leave Bank as it relates
specifically to the use of Holiday Leave prior to the actual occurrence of the Holiday. If
the parties` tentative agreement for the Collective Bargaining Agreement covering 2006
— 2008, reached on January 18, 2006, is ratified by the union membership and
approved by the city council, the parties agree that the previous practice of allowing
employees to use their Holiday Leave prior to the occurrence of the Holiday shall
continue for the year 2006. The new language requiring the "accrual"of the Holiday
prior to its usage (specifically Section 17.2.E.3) shall take effect beginning January 1,
2007. If the tentative agreement reached does not get ratified, this Memorandum of
Understanding shall be null and void.
