MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
• BY AND BETWEEN
THE CITY OF KENT (CITY)
AND
WASHINGTON STATE COUNCIL OF COUNTY AND CITY EMPLOYEES,
AFSCME, AFL-CIO, LOCAL #2617 (UNION)
This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) represents the parties' agreement to a
reorganization of duties in the Police Support Services Division. The parties recognize that due
to technological changes, efficiencies have occurred, which has created a need for the City to
reassign duties. The transcription duties, currently assigned to the Word Processing Technician
classification, will be added to the Police Records Specialist classification. As a result of this
reallocation of duties, the parties have agreed to the following:
• Regine Mann and Lucy Davila, currently classified as Word Processing Technicians,
will be reclassified as a Records Specialists effective July 1, 2006.
• Regine Mann and Lucy Davila's seniority in the Police Records Specialist classification
• will begin on July 1, 2006. Their seniority rights and benefits shall be in accordance
with the CBA.
• Both Regine Mann and Lucy Davila shall be placed in the"C"step of the AFSCME
twenty-two (22) salary range, which represents a 2.57% increase to their base pay.
The above represents the parties'full agreement with regard to this, and shall not be
precedence setting for future similar or dissimilar situations.
By signature below, all parties agree with the provisions of this agreement.
