Viseth Department: ES Detail: (i.e. address, location, parcel number, tax id, etc.): S,Publlc\RecordsManagement\Forms\ContractCover\adcc7832 1 11/08 MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BY AND BETWEEN • THE CITY OF KENT (CITY) AND WASHINGTON STATE COUNCIL OF COUNTY AND CITY EMPLOYEES, AFSCME,AFL-CIO, LOCAL #2617 (UNION) By signature below the parties agree to the following clarification of the recall process and posting procedures as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (specifically Article 3 - Semority and Employment Practices, Sections 3 5 —Notification for Recall, 3.6—Recalls and 3.7 —Position Vacancies). Recall rights of employees to positions they have previously held (Section 3.6) shall be exercised before a vacancy shall be posted (Section 3.7) and laid off employees shall be notified (Section 3.5) of such job openings. In other words,while laid off employees still have recall rights, vacancies shall not be posted unless one of the following occurs. • there are no laid off employees who have previously held the classification,or • all laid off employees who have held the classification have been offered and declined the position. All aspects of the Collective Bargaining Agreement not specifically clarified herein, shall remain in full force and effect.
