BY AND BETWEEN
THE CITY OF KENT (CITY)
AND
WASHINGTON STATE COUNCIL OF COUNTY AND CITY EMPLOYEES,
AFSCME, AFL-CIO, LOCAL#2617 (UNION)
By signature below the parties agree to the following clarification of the provisions of
Article 17 —Holidays; Section 17 2—Holiday Leave Bank of the collective bargaining
agreement, specifically subsection F. This memorandum of understanding is entered into by the
City and the Union as a means of clarification and shall not be used as a precedent for any other
matter.
The parties agree that for the term of the existing contract, all employees shall be able to
reserve up to forty (40) hours on November 201h for the remaining holidays in the year (including
any unused floating holiday hours). Any employee failing to provide notification by November
20`h, shall have any hours in excess of forty (40) hours bought back by the City on the December
• 5`h check (separate check from paycheck). All holiday hours not used by December 3151 or
cashed out on December 5th shall be carried over to the next year.
