220 Fourth Ave S. Dear Rob:
Kent,WA 98032-5895
To follow-up on our discussion during labor/management, the following
agreement is to clarify procedures on how additional work hours and
overtime will be administered and tracked for Custodial employees of the
City of Kent.
• Each year, the Facilities Supervisor will request all custodial employees
to submit, in writing, their desire or non-desire to work additional hours and
overtime for the calendar year, updated as circumstances warrant
• Regular full time and part-time employees shall be given equal
opportunities to sign up for and work additional hours The City agrees not to
assign mandatory additional hours to part-time employees solely to avoid
• paying overtime when overtime eligible employees are willing to work the
additional hours
• The Facilities Supervisor will post additional hours and overtime
opportunities whenever possible to employees who express a desire to work
additional hours as stated above
• Both parties agree that all non-emergency overtime for the Facilities
Supervisor will be limited to administrative duties, except if no other
employees are available or willing to fill the non-administrative overtime
• The Custodial Supervisor will maintain an on-going matrix of additional
hours worked and/or declined for all regular employees A copy of this
matrix will be provided to the union on a quarterly basis.
If you are in agreement with the above, please sign below.
Sincerely,
Anh Hoang
