Dear Rob: Kent,WA 98032-5895 To follow-up on our discussion during labor/management, the following agreement is to clarify procedures on how additional work hours and overtime will be administered and tracked for Custodial employees of the City of Kent. • Each year, the Facilities Supervisor will request all custodial employees to submit, in writing, their desire or non-desire to work additional hours and overtime for the calendar year, updated as circumstances warrant • Regular full time and part-time employees shall be given equal opportunities to sign up for and work additional hours The City agrees not to assign mandatory additional hours to part-time employees solely to avoid • paying overtime when overtime eligible employees are willing to work the additional hours • The Facilities Supervisor will post additional hours and overtime opportunities whenever possible to employees who express a desire to work additional hours as stated above • Both parties agree that all non-emergency overtime for the Facilities Supervisor will be limited to administrative duties, except if no other employees are available or willing to fill the non-administrative overtime • The Custodial Supervisor will maintain an on-going matrix of additional hours worked and/or declined for all regular employees A copy of this matrix will be provided to the union on a quarterly basis.
