MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
BY AND BETWEEN
THE CITY OF KENT AND AFSCME LOCAL 2617
This memorandum of understanding is intended to clarify Section 5.2 — Call Back
of the 2001 — 2003 labor agreement as it relates to Section 5.1 B — Overtime for
Regular Part-time Employees.
The followingis the parties' understanding of the compensation for regular art-

time employees of the bargaining unit who are required, or volunteer, to work
additional hours on their scheduled day off
Regular part-time employees who are called back to work on their scheduled day
off shall be paid at the overtime rate for the first three (3) hours of work
performed Any additional hours worked on that day shall be paid at the straight
time rate unless those hours exceed eight (8) in a day, or exceed forty (40) for
the week in which case Sec 5.1. B of the contract shall prevail.
SThe above represents both parties' understanding and agreement with regard to
this issue
