Viseth Department: ES Detail: (i.e. address, location, parcel number, tax id, etc.): S.Publfc\RecordsManagement\Forms\ContractCover\adcc7832 11/08 MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF KENT AND AFSCME LOCAL 2617 This memorandum of understanding is intended to clarify the language in Section 27.2 —Uniforms and Safety Gear of the 1998-2000 labor agreement with regard to annual clothing allowance for uniforms for employees in Records Specialist, Records Supervisor, and Data Entry Specialist positions. The City and Union have met to discuss this issue and have agreed to the following: • For new Records employees who are eligible to receive the start-up uniform/clothing allowance of $350/year as outlined in the labor agreement, the employee may elect to receive such start-up allowance in the form of receipt and reimbursement or to receive the allowance in cash. • New employees must inform the City, in writing, of their choice for cash or receipt/reimbursement for the start-up clothing allowance within the first two weeks of their employment. • If the new employee elects the cash option, the money will be processed and paid to the employee on the first full pay period following the receipt of the employee's • notice by the City. Both parties understand and agree that the cash option will be paid to employees in the amount of $350 less applicable taxes. This agreement represents all of the parties' understanding and agreement on Section 27.2 with regard to this issue.
