BETWEEN THE CITY OF KENT AND NORTH HIGHLINE FIRE PROTECTION
DISTRICT NO .11 ("North Highhne")
Tlus Amendment to the Agreement for Apparatus Service between the City of Kent and the
Highlme Fire Protection District, originally last signed on November 9, 1998, amends the
agreement in the following manner
Section 7 of the Agreement is amended to read as follows:
7. CHARGES FOR PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR. The City
will provide preventative maintenance at the rate of$58 00 per hour plus the cost of parts
and fluids, with a 10% surcharge on parts and fluids, including all applicable taxes The
City shall bill North Highlme after work has been completed North Highlme shall pay
all amounts billed within 45 days of the date a billing statement is issued Any amount
not paid within 45 days of the date the billing statement is issued shall bear interest at the
rate of one percent (1%) per month. North Highline will not be responsible for payment
and service resulting from defective work
Section 8 of the Agreement is amended to read as follows.
8. EMERGENCY AND EXTRA CHARGES. Labor for any repairs that are performed at
any tune other than during the City's normal work period, as defined in Paragraph 5,
shall be billed at the rate of one and one half(1-1/2) tunes the rate used. North Highhne
designates Dave Malo and/or its duty Battalion Chief from its department as the person
authorized to order such work. North Highlme may designate other persons from time to
time if it delivers prior notice of that designation to the City The City will provide a
statement of the hours worked and parts used for the apparatus requiring service
Emergency call-out will be charged at the rate of time and one half based on the normal
rate of$58.00 per hour for a minimum of 2 hours, portal to portal
