August 12 , 1999
A special luncheon meeting of the Kent City Council was
held at H. D. Hotspurs at 12 : 15 p.m. Present : U. S .
Congressman Adam Smith, Mayor White, Councilmembers Amodt,
Brotherton, Clark, Orr and Woods, and Government Affairs
Manager Laurent .
While primarily a social event, the following subjects were
discussed: the impact of Initiative 695 on Kent, the
Endangered Species Act, the Internet Sales Tax, the Federal
Budget, the Telecommunications Act, smart growth, Sound
Transit, CDBG Funding and the McKinley Act, according to
Ms . Laurent .
The luncheon meeting ended at approximately 1 : 15 p.m.
