April 29, 1985
A special meeting of the Kent City Council was called to order at 7:00 o'clock
p.m. by Mayor Hogan. Present: Mayor Hogan, Councilpersons Biteman, Johnson,
Kelleher, Leahy, White and Woods and City Administrator Cushing. Councilmember
Bailey was not in attendance. Also present: Fire Chief Angelo. Proper legal
notice has been given for the special meeting.
The Mayor noted that the public hearing was scheduled in conformance with Internal
Revenue procedures governing issuance of Industrial Revenue Bonds. The Cascade
Development Company application for issuance of Industrial Revenue Bonds for
$3,750,000 was considered and approved by the City of Kent Economic Development
Corporation at a special meeting on April 22, 1985.
The public hearing was opened by Mayor Hogan. There were no comments from the
audience and no correspondence has been received. JOHNSON MOVED to close the
public hearing, Woods seconded. Motion carried.
LEAHY MOVED to adopt Resolution No. 1057 approving the proposal of the City of
Kent Economic Development Corporation to finance certain industrial development
facilities to be located in the City of Kent. Biteman seconded. Motion carried.
JOHNSON MOVED to adopt Resolution No. 1058 approving the issuance of industrial
development bonds by the City of Kent Economic Development Corporation for
$3,750,000, and approving Resolution No. 1985-22 of the City of Kent Economic
Development Corporation authorizing the sale of such industrial revenue bonds
to provide funds to finance certain industrial development facilities for Cascade
Development Company in the City of Kent, Washington and related matters;
approving execution and delivery by the City of Kent Economic Development
Corporation of the Indenture of Trust and Loan Agreement, both dated as of April 1,
1985 and other related financing documents. White seconded. Motion carried.
JOHNSON MOVED to adjourn the meeting at 7:20 p.m. , Woods seconded. Motion carried.
