A SPECIAL MEETING of the Kent City Council was called to order at
7: 00 p.m. Present: Mayor Hogan, Councilpersons Carey, B. Johnson,
J. Johnson, Just, Kitto , Masters and McCaughan, City Administrator
Street,, Public Works Director Ulett, Planning Director Harris ,
Finance Director Winkle.
It was determined that the purpose for the special meeting was
to enact an ordinance to set the tax levy for 1979 and that proper
notice of the meeting had been given.
TAX LEVY
City Administrator Street read Ordinance No. 2122 , fixing the tax
levy for 1979 at $3. 153 per $1 , 000 of assessed valuation. The total ,
including the special levies for the City Hall , Fire Station and
Library, is $2 ,463, 528 . 40 . KITTO MOVED to adopt Ordinance 2122,
Carey seconded. Winkle noted that the taxes had not actually been
raised over last year' s figures . Motion carried.
This concluded the business for the special meeting, and at 7 : 10
p.m. , B. JOHNSON MOVED to adjourn, Carey seconded. Motion carried.
