Kent , Washington, December 16 , 1929.
Regular meeting of the City Council met in the Council Chambers
on the above date; present lrayor Aturker and Councilmen Poundy , Dun-
bar , Johnson and 71ooden. Councilman Leach coming in later.
Minutes of the meeting of December 2 , last , read and an-nroved.
Clerks report , police report and the Budget re-port , for November
presented and filed .
A comunication from the Att 'y of 11rs . Ella Retzlaff, offering
to settle her damage claim for $28.50 ras read and upon motion the
offer was accepted and the amt . of W.50 , in full settlement , was
-ordered paid.
Engineer certificate of acceptance of Street Lighting Contract
was read, and upon motion the work was accepted. ans per contract
and recomendation of the Engineer.

Franchise. ordinance No. 604 , granting Franchise to C .M.& St . P.
Ry. Co. , presented and refered to the Street Committee .
Ordinance- No. 597 , relating to the cleaning of streets and private
places; Ordinance No . 598 , regulating explosives; Ordinance No . 599 ,
regulating Motion Picture 14achines; Ordinance No. 600 , regulating
Plumbing; and Ordinance No. 601 , adopting a Building Code , were all
read and placed upon their final passage and carried by the unani-
mous vote of all of the Councilmen present., except that in Ordinance
601 Councilman Dunbar was excused from voting.
An Ordinance Regulating Garages and an Ordinance regulating. Dry
Cleaning, were read and upon motion laid upon the table.
No further business appearing the meeting, upon motion, did then
adjurn.
