Regular meeting of the City Council; present Mayor TAurker and Coun- cilmen Boundy, Boucher, Boyker, Dunbar, Johnson & Wooden; Councilman Leach coming in later. Minutes of the meeting of July 1st . read and approved. Clerks report and the Budget report for the month of June was presented and filed. Matter of Sidewalk on Titus Street E. was refe_red to the Street Committee for consideration and report . Upon motion it was decided that it be the nollicy of the City Council to alow no sign to extend into the street beyond the curb line . Bids were opened for the proposed Street Lighting system from NePage McKenney Co; Seattle Electric Fixture Co. and from the H. C . Moss Construction Co. and upon motion the matter of awarding the cone tract was refered to a Committee of the Whole Council for considerat4 ion, until the next regular meeting, August 5, next . Emergency Ordinance No. 588 , appropriating '$500.00 for new fire hose was read, ordered advertised, and laid over to the next meeting. A petition, protesting the condition of Second Avenge No. , from Meeker street to Shinn Avenue , was presented and the Chief of Police was instructed to see that the street in question be kept free and in proper condition from now on. Supplies 11 .10 Kent Valley News Printing 24.00 Bledsoe Grocery Janitors Sup. 2.8- 1 No further business appearing the meeting did then adjurn.. City Clerk. 344 Bid of H. C. Moss , for $9429.00 , proposition No. 1 , Street Light- ing, fDist . No. 225, was upon motion accepted and contract awarded; all joints to be wined in place of pot heads , as specified and sev- en extra globes and polls was ordered for emergency. The vote to award the contract was taken by roll call , all Councilmen voting n Aye Matter of cleaning up the Cities lots on First Street oposite the Post Office was refered to the Street Committee . , The City Attorney was directed to draw up an ordinance govern- ing garbage dispossal , un der the direction of the Health and San- itation Committee.- Upon motion the Water Committee was directed to investigate and make recomendation on the matter of of the installation of a new water main from the springs to the large reservoir. No further business appearing; the meeting, upon motion, did then adjurn. City Clerk. •
