Regular meeting of the City Council; present Idiayor Murker and
Councilmen Boundy , Boucher , Boyker , Coleman , Overlock and Wooden;
Councilman Konschot coming in later.
Minutes of the last regular meeting, December 17 , read and appro-
ved. '
Clerks report and the Police report for the month of December was
presented and filed.
A betition from Vadelein Nadeau , asking that a deed be issued to
her for lot 5 , block 18 , W.C.I .Cos ' First Addition to Dent , upon pay-
ment of $36.64, the amount due upon said lot , was read and upon mo-
tion the same was granted and the Mayor and Clerk ras authorized to
issu to I3er a deed to the above described lot .
A petition for vacation of was read from i'r. ?. F. Coleman and t1i.e
the following Resolution i-as read and adopted :
IT IS RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of lKent , that on the
petition of B.F.Colenian , sole ovrner of the nronerty abutting in the
alley through block 11 , T.C.I .Co ' s First Addition , for a vacation of
said i.11.ey from Veeker. to Got►re Street , that said retition be received ,
and that all ner. sons who may desire to object to the said vacation , .
are hereby notified to file the same i-ith tlge City Clerk, or to appear
and present such objections to the City Council at a meeting; to 'be
held in the Council Chamber. s ,in tbo City Fall nt KPnt , nt 8 o'clock
p on. , on the 4th . day of February , 1929 , v Iii. ch time and place has Been
fixed for the hearing of all ?natters relating to said vacation, and
all' objections thereto .
That the City Clerk be directed to give notice of said hearing as
required by law.
Application for a pool room license , by P . Yamada , was read' and
refered to he Police and License Committee .
Application of 1,1r. Chas R. Collins .for a gass Franchise was read
and Ordinance No. 582 was read and refered to he City Attorney and a
Committee composed of Councilmen Boucher , VTooden and Boyker , for' in-
vestigatioh and report .

AREAS:
The City of Kent institued foreclosure i3roceedings' and prose-
cuted the same to judgement and sale , on Tract 7 , less the Right of
Way of the Chicago , Milwaukee and St . Paul Rail-ay, in waterninns Acre
Tracts to he City of Xnet , in King County, ""ashin,7; on , and the o-ner
of the said tract has paid in full to the said City all ' of the origi-
nal local assessments upon - rhich the naid foreclosure was had , and all
interest , costs , penalties and tares thereon , and it anpearinF the the
delinquency of the raid local annesn!rent 1!�as unkno• n to the owner until
very recently and it _further annearing that to clear the title of the
said o7mer it is necessary tPat the City of Yent n_uit claim to her all
interest in the said Tract 7 , it is therefore
RESOLVED: That the Mayof and City Clerk of the City of Fent be and they
are authorized and directed to convey and quit claim any end all rights
of the City of Kent in and to the said Tract 7 , less the riF,ht of vTay
of the Chicago , Mi lvraukee and St . Paul Rai lrray , in Wate rman6 Acre
Tracts to the City of beet , in King Co. Wa.shin,-rton, to Caroline Batstone
the owner thereof.
Resolution No. 225, declaring intention of the City to improve cer-
tain streets by installing street lighting system, ras read and adopt-
ed as f6llows:
IT IS RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Kent , Sete of
Washington , that it does hereby declar its intention of improving
Meeker street from the east marginal of Fourth Avenue to Central Avenue;
First Avenue front Meeker street to Titus street; and Central Avenue
from Yeeker street to Titus street , by installing an ornamental street
lighting system, consisting of ;=.tandards , poles , v.-ires and cbnections ,
and doing such other cork in conection therewith as may be necessary,
all in accordance with plans and specifications to be prepared by the
City Engineer.
That all persons who may desire to object to said imnrove?ront are
hereby notified to appear and prevent such objections at a meeting of
of the City Council to be held in the Council Chambers in the City hall
