Minutes of a meetira, of the, Council of the City of Kent
held in the City Halton 140nday ,May 21st .I928.
Present at roll call. were Mayor Murkar ,and Councilmen Boundy
Boucher ,Coleman ,Xonschot ,Overlock and Wooden.
The ClerkRe reports for March and April were read and ordered
filed . The minutes of May 7th. were read and approved.
City Engineer Leeper: reported the changing of the valve system
at the upper reservior was completed ,as was also the lowering of
the supply main at the high points .
Committee to formulate rules for the use of. the Council Chambers
by the public was granted additional time .
The Street committee was instructed to arrange for clearing a
blocked culvert on the east highway .
The Clerh' read a communication from the City Council of Auburn
thanking the Kent Fire Dept . for its assistance at the Auburn fire
of May IIth. and assuring Kent that the Auburn Dept . is at our
service whenever needed .
A claim for personal injury in the sum of $3 -50 was filed by
E .J .Christman.AS the .injury complained of occured on March 31st .
and the claim was filed on May IQth. the City Attorney advised that
the City is not liable . On motion the claim aws rejected.
Ordinance # 572 making an appropriation for Farwig control was
passed by unanimous vote .
Deed from King County to the City of Kent for park purposes of
the property known as the Calhoun Gravel Pit in section 19 ,twn .22
north ,range 5 east ,was accepted and ordered recorded .

On motion it teas decided to replace the four inch water main
from Meeker to Shinn Street and on Shinn St .from First- to Fourth Ave.
Council decided to examine the water supply main from the upper
to the lower roserv6ir•s on Thuraday ,May 24th .
NO further business appearinb,Council adjourned.
