Minutes of September 15, read and approved. Treasurers report for the month of August and the report of the Police Dept , for the month of Sept. read and filed. Fight Com... re.domended that the contract with the P..S.E.Ry.Co. , for Street lights be laid over for twoo weeks for further consideration. recomendation adopt.ed. Upon motion of Councilman Murker J. Zigler was apointed Garbage Colector for the present . The City Clerk was directed to notify the owner of property on Front St. to fix hole in sidewalk. Five bids were opened fox 1000 ft . , more or less , of Fire Hose ,from the following Firms; B. F. Goodrich Co. , through H. P. Rasmussen. A. G. Long & Co. , Betlin Hdwe. Co. , Howard-Cooper Corporation, and The United States Rubber Co. Through Oliver & Johnson. Upon motion the contract was awarede to The Goodrich Co. at 78-f cts.. and $3.25 per set for couplings. The following Resolution, accepting deed from R. R. Rotter, for St, read and adopted: WHEREAS , The City of Kent has contracted with Rudolph R. Rotter and Clara H. Rotter, to open a street 12 feet in width across the nor- th end of- their property in the City limits of Kent; and said Rudolph R. Rotter and Wife having executed and delivered to the City of tent a deed for said strip as a right-of-way for said portion of street; AND WHEREAS the road known as the old cemetary road is no longer needed or used as a public street or highway , and is not a regular laid out street; IT IS RESOLVED by the City of Kent that the deed submitted by Rudolph R and Clara H. Rotter for said strip of land be and the same is accepred, and a street 12 feet in width is hereby declared establi- shed on said strip , said strip to be unnamed; IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the road or street formerly called the cemetary road be closed to traffic , with the privilege of the abut- ting property owners to establish their lines and fences thereon accor- ding to their respective and legal rights to the same. D.• No. 216 , was- read and upon motion placed upon its final passage and carried by the unanimous vote of all of the Councilmen present. Ordinance No. 538 , adopting the tax budget for the year 1925, was read and upon motion placed upon its final passage and carried by the unimous vote of all of the Councilmen present. Ordinance No . 539 , fixing the tax levy for the year 1925, was read and upon motion placed upon its fineal passage and carried by the unani- mous vote of all of the Council men present . Upon motion of Councilman Moore <the Farmers Water .Go , were allowed a rebate of $4.50,, for two thousand feet of- water used for flushing out the system.- Upon motion of Councilman Woodley the matter of the safe owned by the City and now in the position of Patridge Jewelery Store was re- f`ered to the Finance Committee with power to rent or sell as they found best for the City. No further business appearing the meeting, upon motion did then adjurn. v � City Clerk.
