Kent , Washington, December 17 , 1923.
Regular meeting of the Council; present T:Iayor Leppert and Council-
men Boundy, Hallock , Yurker , Morris , 1[oor , T11-arsh and Woodley.
Minutes of the meeting of December 3 , read and approved .
Clerks report for the month of Idoveml er read and filed.
Ordinance No . 524, approvinE; assessment roll for sideI7,alk district
No . 213 , read and upon motion placed upon its final passage and carried
by the unanimous vote of all of the Councilmen present .
Ordinance Yo. 525, Amending ordinance No . 452 , Governing places of
Public Re.,ort , v.,a.s read and upon motion placed upon its final passage
and carried by the unanimous vote of all of the Councilmen present . /
Ordinance No. 526 , providing that the Chief of Police and one assis-
tant shall be exofficio members of the Fire Depattment , was read and
upon motion placed upon its; final passage and carried b.� the unimou.s
vote of all of the Council present .
The Following Resolution , transfering money to the Cur. Exp. Fvnd,
vial read and adopted.
RESOLVED, By the City Council of the City of Kent , VTa.shi.ncton, that
the following amounts be and they are hereby ordered transfered from
the respective Funds named to the Cur. Fxp . Fund, to reimburse that
fund for moneys advanced.

TOTAL Amount transfered from LI.D. Funds to the Cur. Exp. Fund is
$1320 .74; and the City Clerk and Treasurer are hereby directed to make
their books of account show such transfers.
The following Resolution directing the purchase of investments was
read and adopted.
IT IS RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Kent , that the
City Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and empowered, with the
approval of the Chairman of the Finance Comrittee , to puuchase , for in-
vestment , any number and denomination of 1,1unicipal General Libility
Bonds , of any County , City or School District , or Corrfrnercial Waterway,
or Local Improvement District Bonds , upto one half of the issue , at a
rate of net income of not lest; than 43 per Cent . and not exceeding in
amount ;j>18,000.00. That in case of such purchase warrants shall be
drawn upon the Water, or P .R.W. Funds of said City in payment thereof
as delivered.
Contract for City printing wa ; read , adopted and ordered signed by
the proper authorities.
Finance Committee recomended. the purchase of $14,500.00 of King Co.
Commercial Waterway District No. 1 , bonds , due December 1 , 192.6 , and
upon motion of Councilman ]Jurker the recomendation vias approved.
