Minutes of the meeting of October lst . read and approved. Reports of the Clerk Treasurer and 11r. Botting read and filed. Mrs. Fred Grant presented her resignation as a member of the Lib- rary Board, vrhich upon motion was accepted; the Mayor apdinted Mrs. Anna Fisher to fill the vacancy , vrhich appointmet was confirmed by the Council . Hall Committee reported favorable on the proposition of installing an oil burner, at a cost of $690.00 , and upon motion of Councilman Boundy it was decided that an oil burner be installed , under the dir- ection of the building Committee . Ordinance No. 521 , regulating the use of automobiles , eras read and ' after the minimum fine had been fixed at 'T,5.00 , it 117as placed upon its final passage and carried unanimously. Ordinance No. 522 , providing a penality for driving a car whil in- toxicated, was read and upon motion of Council man Murker , placed upon its final passage and carried by the unimous vote of all of the Coun- cilmen present. An ordinance , amending ordinance No . 452 , defining; a place of pub- lic resort , was reed and a motion to place the same upon its final 'pas- sage rac lost. CLAIMS READ AND ALLOWED AS FOLLOWS: W. City Hall Sup. 1 .10 Virginia Cafe Meals for prisoners 7 .20 Upon motion of •Councilman Hallock it was ordered. that the fees for weighing shall be 10 cts. min. on net weight up to 2 tona and 5 cts. per ton;''fraction thereof, for all net weight over two tons. Yatter of several requests for street lights was refered to the Light Committee for investigation. Upon motion the Water Committee was authorized to have a stand pipe placed in the large reservoir and to have the two distributing reservoirs relined. No further business appearing the meeting, upon motion, did then adjure. k City Clerk.
