Minutes of the meeting of July 16, read ans approved. Clerks report and the reports of the Chief of Police and Mr. Bott- ing, for the month of July, read and furled. , Committee on the purchase of new furniture reported progress; Com. continued, with power to act. Protests against improvements in Local Imp. Dist. Nos. 208-209 & 210 wade filed and the protests on Dist's 209 and 210 being sufficient thoes districts were killed and the ordinance providing for the imp- rovement in Dist. No. 208 was laid over for further consideration. Ordinance No. 516, regulating the use and sale of Fire Crackers, in the City of Kent, was read and upon motion placed upon its final passage and carried, by the unanimous vote of all of the Councilmen present. Action of the Council at the last Council meeting, in the matter, of building a sidewalk on east Titus Street, was recinded. J City Atty. rendered an openion on the matter of the purchase,of a fire truck and upon motion, a committee were apointed as follows, to get the openion of the Attorney General on the matter; City Att'y and Councilmen Woodley and Marsh.
