Kent, Washin-ton, July 2, 1923.
Regular meeting; of the .Council;. -_present 1Ilayor Leppert and Council-
raen Boundy, Idurker, Ttorris and I,Toore. Councilmen Hallock, 'ldarsh and
Vloodley coming in later. -
Minutes of June 18th. read and approved as read.
Mr. Bottings report of Work done during the month of June and the
report of the Chief of Police read and filed.
Committee apointed toinvestigate IT.P. Franchise on Shinn Street,
reported progress, no action taken.
Request of the Police Chief for bedding; for the jail was refe-red
to the Police and License Committee.
Ordinance No 512, making a no narking zone between Gowe and Meeker
streets, on Second Avenue, -read and upon motion placed upon its final
passage and carried by the unanimous vote of all of the Council.
Ordinance No. 513, Approving assessment roll, Dist. ITo. 207, read
and placed upon -its final passage and carried by the unanimous vote of
all of the Councilmen Present.
Ordinance ',Ia. 514, Authorizing sale of Park Property, was read,
placed upon its -final passage andcarried by the unanimous vote of all
of the Councilmen present.
Ordinance No. 515, declarins,., a sidewall: area, read and upon motion
placed upon its final passage and carried by the unanimous vote of all
of the Councilmen present.
RESOLUTION NO. 208 was read and adopted as follows:
IT IS -RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Kent, in King
County, State of Washington, that it do and it does hereby, declare its
intention of improving the south side of Titus street between Railroad
and Central Avenues; the west side of Central Avenue from Meeker to
Titus Streets; 'lest side of State Avenue from Smith to Pioneer streets
I:Torth and South sides of 71ard street, from State to Kennebeck -Avenue;
east side of Iladen Avenue, from Willis to Hadkerstreet; and east side
of Fifth Avenue from Willis St. to the existing concrete walk on Fifth.
street; execpt in all cases where concrete sidewalk is already constru-
cted and approved. Also on the east side of Fifth Avenue, from Gowe
street to Titus street, except where concrete wall: i-s now in.
By constructing on said portions of -sgid streets and avenues as
indicated, a concrete sidewalk, six feet wide, and doing such other
work as may be necessary in conection therewith, al in accordance with
plans anc specifications to i;e prepared by the City Engineer.
That all persons who may desire -to object to the said improvement
are hereby notified to appear and present such objection at a meeting
of the City Council to be held in the Council Chambers, in the City
'fall, in the City of Kent, at 8 o'clock p .m . , on the 6th. day of Aug-
ust, -1923, which time acid place is hereby fixed for the hearing; of all
r:latters relating to said improvement, and all objections tliereto, and
for determining the method of payment for said imlrovement.
That the City Clerk is directed to submit to the City Council at
or prior to said date, all data and infori,ation required by law to be
so submitted.
That the cost and expense of said improvement shall be borne by
and assessed against the property liable therefor as provided by law.

IT IS RESOLVED, By the City Council of the City of Kent, in ling

intention of improving Central Avenue, west side, from Pioneer street
to the not*th City limitw, except where sidesrk,?.11; of co�icrete is already
constructed and approved; b;r brir1C7ing said portion of said street to
;;grade and placing thereon a concrete sidewalk six feet in width; and
doing such other work in conection therei,7ith as :.:ay be necessary, all
in accordance v,ith plans and specifications to be prepared by the City
Engineer.

Councilaien iToore , I:Torris and Ilurker were apointed a Committee to
meet frith the Park Board and aranf e to have a man placed in c'iart-ed
of the Camp L7,rounds .
Coiiunittee' on purchase of a Tire Truck reported, several sales:lien
spoke, explaining the merriets of several trucks, and upon notion- the
Atta :urry Truck was eleminated and the Conu_iittee was continued for
furthe-:• investigation.
The I;i. E. Sunday ScLool' requested that the City bear cart of the
exrpense of a Trafic I.2an , for a coupple of hours on Bundays , at I.Teeker
and Central, and uponnmotion the Council a.,reed to pay one half of tTie
expense.
No further business appearing the meeting, upon motion, did then
adjurn.
