Kent , Washington, September 5, 1922.
Regular meeting of the Council; present Oouncilmen Hallock, Hatt ,
Murkier, I,iorrill , Thompson and Woodley; Councilm n, Murker acting Mayor.
Minutes of the meeting of August 21, read and approved.
Report of the Police Department , for the month of August , read and
filed.
Hatter of a hydrant at the High School was refered back to the- Water
Committee for further investigation.
Upon recomendation of the Water Committee it was decided that an aa-
ditional hydrant would not be placed on Naden Avenue.
Comunication from the C.A& St .P. Ry. Co . , requesting the vacation of
the west 20 ft. of Sixth street , from meeker St. to Harrison St . , was
read and toe matter was laid over to take the regular course.
Ordinance No. 507 , providing for the improvement of west Meeker St .
by Sidewalk and Drain, was read and placed upon its final passage and
carried .by the following vote, Councilmen Hallock, Murker, Morrill ,
Thompson and Woodley Voting "Aye" and Councili,an Hatt voting "Nay" .

Hatter of a broken rail across EillCreek on Smith street was refered
to the Chief of Police and the Street Committee, with power to act.
Application of linneker and Corbin for a pool room license was read
and upon motion granted.
Resolution and notice of tax levy read and adopted as followw:
IT IS RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Kent , Washington, that
the following be and it is hereby declared to be an estimate of the am-
mounts necessary to meet the public expense and expenditures of the said
City for the year 1923 and the receipts from sources other than taxation,
upon the property within the said City , towit:

said City will meet in the Council Chambers , at the City Fall , in the
said City , on Monday October 2, 1922, at the dour of b o' clock A. M. ,
of the said day for the purpose of making a tax levy as stated in the
said estimates.

Upon motion the Council agreed to furnish the material , to the
amount of $350.00 , for tine drain on No. Central Avenue , provided that
the property owners do the work.
No further business appearing the meeting, upon motion, did then
adjurn.
