Kent , Washington, July 3 , 1922.
Regular meeting of the Council; present hlayor Leppert and Council-
Dien Hatt , hrurker, j�aden and Thompson; Councilmen Ykorrill and Woodley
conning in later.
Y,iiiutes of June 19t1i. read and approved.
Bids were opened and read on the new city hall as follows;
N. T. Barnes , $17900.00; J. J. Tinker, $18692.00; A. B. Joslyn;
$16160.00.
Bids for Treating and plumbing were opened and read as follow;
A. B. Joslyn, $2605.00; F. L. Taylor , 2556.00; Liac Boyker, $2246.00.
A motion to pospone the letting of the contract until an election
could be had on location was declared lost by the T�Iayor , on the foll-
owing vote , .Councilmen Hatt , Yurker and Voo(,ley voting "Aye" and
Councilman Naden, Morrill and Thompson voting "Iuay" .
Upon motion the contract for building the City Hall was awarded
to A. B. Joslyn , for $16160.00 , and the contract for the Heating and
Plumbing was let to Vac Boyker for $2246.00.
mrs Blaclzmer, Mir. Pozyy and :4:r. Lyndecker spoke to the Council
in opposition to the assessing of the costs of the proposed. drain on
No . Central to the property owners; after which, and no objections
having been Filed, Ordinance No. 505 providing for the improvement
of No. Central Avenue by placing a box drain along the west side ,
was read and,upon motion placed upon its finial passage and carried
by the following vote , Councilmen li;urker , :V:orrill , 1'aden, Hatt and
Woodley voting "Aye" and Councili,ian hatt voting "Nay" .
Matter of the sale of a lott on Scenic Way to Dr. Hoffman was
refered to the St . Committee for investigation.
Upon motion fir. Joslyn and Mr. Boyker were requested to deposit
a Certified check for 5% of their bid.

Report of the. Chief of Police for the Dionth of June , read aril tiled.
One bid for the sidewalk on V. IeIeeker was opened and read and
rejected, and new resolution ordered prepared , to include drain:.
