Regular meeting of the Council; present Yayor Leppert and Council-
men Hallock , Hatt , Hurker , Morrill , Naden , Shore and Woodley.
Minutes of Larch 21 and March 24 read and approved .

Upon motion. the Contract was awarded to J . A . Ward for the Sum of
$7087 .83 for both streets , and all other bids were rejected .
The trayor apointed 11rs Truher as a member of the Library Poard , in
place of Mrs Chittenden , Resigned .
Petition of Geo. Yorgan and J. A. Sharp for crossing at Foutth and
Gowe , reed and refered to the Street Committee with power to act .
Amended Resolution No . 201 , read and adopted as follows:
IT IS RESOLVED BY Ti.. CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LENT , in ping
Countym State of V'ashington , that it do and it does hereby declare
its intention of improving Kennebeck Ave . from Titus street to Smith
street , Gowe street frora State to Kennebeck, Meeker street fron State
to Kennebeck , Tard street from State to ennebeck , Smith street from
State to Eennebeck,State street from Titus to Smith and Titus street
from Kennebeck Avenue to Cemetary Road , or such Portion thereof as
may be necessary; by placing a tile drain 18" on Kennebeck Ave . , from
Titus to Smith street , and conecting the drains of 12" on Titus stree
X&nnebeck Ave . and Cemetary Road as may be necessary, and doing such
other work as may be necessary ib conection thererTith, all in accor-
dance with plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Eng.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the s )id improvement is of such nature
and characture that the special benefits resulting; therefrom extend
beyond the boun,dries of the Local Improvement District as established
and defined by law , and that other property as herein designated is

especially benefitted by such improvement. That it -proposed to create
an enlarged district to pay a portion of the cost of said improvement ,
said enlarged district to embrace and include all of blocka 7 , 12 , 13
and 14 of Tashington Central Improvement Companys First Addition to
Kent , in addition to the district as defined by law, v,hich enlarged
district shall pay 40% of the total cost and expense, of said

said enlarged district being that portion of said blocks as designated
not included in the i.iiprovement district as defined by lain.
IT IS FURTHER RHAOLVED that the City of iient is especially benne-
fitted by said improvement , and shall bear 20% of the cost and expense
of the said improvement
That all persons that shall desire to object to the said improvemen
t are hereby notified to appear and present such objections at a meet-
ing of the City Council to be held in the Council Chambers , in the
City Hall , in the City of dent , at 8 o ' clock p .m. on the ^econj day
of May , 1921 , which time and place is herel,y fixed as the time and
place for the hearing of all matters relating to said improvement ,and
all objections thereto , and for determining the method for he payment
for said improvement .
That the City Clerk is directed to ;submit to the City Council at
or prior to said date , all data and information required by lair to be
so submitted .
That the cost and expense of saod improvement shall be borne by
and assessed against the property liable therefor as provided by lacer.
No further business appearing the Council , upon motion , did then
adjurn.
