Regular meeting of the Council; present Mayor Fulp and Councilmen Asselstine , Gould , Madison , Murker and Naden. Minutes of the meeting of July 6 read and approved. Report of the � Chief of Police for the month of June read and filed. City Clerk was instructed to write to the Board of County Commiss- ioners to the effect that the City had no objections to a county road along the pipe line , from the old Calhoun Mill sight east , provided that the County guaranteed not to injure the pipe . Sup. 27. 33 Heck & Vine Office Sup. 9.00 Bids opened for sewer, District No. 195 , from Oliver & McMahon for $1641.250 and Keating & Co. for $1943.75; upon motion they were laid over untill• next meeting for consideration , withdrawing of bids to be allowed. Bid of J. A. Ward , on Prospect St. grading , Dist. 197 , for $3269.6o , opened and read; and upon motion the the contract was awarded to J, A, Ward for $3269.60 , he being the only bidder. Ordinance No. 468 , providing for sidewalk on Prospect Street , was read and upon motion placed upon its final passage and carried by the following vote , Councilmen Asselstine , Madison , Murker and Naden voting "Aye" and Councilman Gould voting "Nay" . Upon motion, further proceedingd in sidewalk district No. 192 was ordered indeffinitely posponed. RESOLUTION No. 199 , declaring intention to improve certain streets , Was read and adopted as follows: TI IS RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Kent , in King Co. State of Washington, that it do and it does hereby declar its intention of improving Clark Street , from its junction with Titus Street and Ken- nebeck Avenue; in a southeasterly and north westerly direction, to an unnamed street running north and south between blocks A. & B. of W.C. I. Co 's Knob Hill Addition , thence south along said unnamed street to Dean street , thence east on Dean street to Alexander Avenue , thence south on Alexander Avenue to a ,junction of the Southeast corner in lot 10 in Block 9 of said Addition; by grading said portion of said streets to a width of 20 ft. , placing the proper drainage therein , and then graveling the same to a depth of not exceeding 12 inches , as may be necessary, and to a width of 12 feet , and doing such other work as may be necessary in conection therewith, all in accordance with plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer. That all persons who desire to object to the said improvement are hereby notified to appear and present such abjection at a meeting of the City Council to be held in the Council Chambers , in the City Hall , in the City of Kent , at •8 o ' clock p.m. , on the 16th. day of August , 1920 , which time and place is hereby fixed for the hearing of all mat- ters realting to the said improvement , and all objections thereto , and for determining the method of payment for the said improvement. That the City Clerk is directed to submit to the City Council at , or prior to said date , all data and information required by lae to be so submitted. That the cost and expense of said improvement shall be borne by and assessed against the property liable therefor as provided by law.
