Kent , Washington , June 21 , 1920 .
. Regular meeting of the Council; present Ulayer Fulp and Councilmen
Asselstine , Coleman , Gould , Matt , Madison, Murker and Naden.
Minutes of June 7th. read and approved .
Protest against the street paving assessment , Dist. .No. 189 , read
and refered to the Street Committee .
Application of the P.S.E.Ry.CO. for Fire protection line , for priv-
ate use , read and upon motion same was allowed upon the condition that
they file a diagram of location and nay the expense of instalation.
The City Att'y. was instructed to notify the C.M.& St . P. R,y. CO.
and the B.S.E.Ry.Ce. to make their crossings an Yeeker street to con-
form with the grade of the street.
Deed of dedication to the north end of Lincoln street v,as accepted
and orderd recorded .
Upon motion , and upon the recomendation of the License Committee ,
Mr. Hunter was granted a license for card room and the Liberty Cafe
a license to sell soft drinks .
Upon motion and upon the recomendation of the Water Committee , the
offer of Mrs . Scott to sell to the City two lots on the hill ajacent
to the resrevoir , for $150.00 , was accepted .
Upon the recomendation of the Drainage Committee , a drain and fill
ras ordered at the north end of Jason street , at the intersection of
James street.

Ordinance No . 465 , approving the assessment roll of Local Imp. Dist.
No. 189 , aras read and upon motion placed upon its final passage and
carried by the unanimous vote of all of the Councilmen present.
Resolution No. 198 , declaring intention to make improvement , was
read and adopted as follows:
IT IS RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Kent , in King
County , State of Washington , that it do and it does hereby declare its
intention of improving Prospect street , east side , from Temperence to
Jason and west side from Temperance to James street , by grading that
portion of said street as indicated , and then placing thereon a concre-
te walk six feet in width , and doing such other work as may be neces-
sary in condction therewith, all in accordance rith plans and specifi-
cations to be prepared by the City Engineer.
That all persons rho may desire to object to the said improvement
are hereby notified to appear and present such objections at a meeting
of the City Council to be held in the Council Chambers , in the City
Hall , in the City of Kent , at 8 o' clock P.V . on the 19th. day of July
1920 , which time and place is hereby fixed for the hearing bf all mat-
ters relating to said improvement , and all objections thereto , and for
determining the method for payment of said improvement.
That the City Clerk is directed to submit to the City Council at
or prior to said date , all data and information required by law to be
so submitted .
That the cost and expense of said improvement shall be borne by and
assessed against the property liable therefor as provided by law.
Upon motion the matter of street flushing aras left to the Street
Committee , with power to act.
Upon motion the Engineering Dept. alas instructed to Check up the
house plumbing of the City for the Water Department.
No further business appearing the Council did then adjumn ,
