Regular meeting of the Council; present Mayor Shinn and Coun-
cilmen Kerlin , Coleman , Hatt , Look. , Overlook and West .
Records of the lneetin�; of July 5 , read and approved.
Treasurers report for the month of June wasr read and uopn mo-
tion plac-d Upon filr.
Upon )Notion it was ordered that an electral fire alarm system
be installed at a cost of $104.00 , with the understanding th .t
the Fire Dept . pay for one half of ti,e cost .
Claims were read and orderd paid as follows :
Kent Lumber Co . Lumber $4.50
F. J. Francisco Spec. Police 2 .50
E. L . Crow if If 2 .50
Beebe Phar irks cy 11 . 0. Sup. 3 . ,0
Kids to the number of eight w-re opened, for the purchase of
the bonds of local improvement district i�amber 151, the State
rank of Kent and Mr . B. F. Coleliun being a tie at 105 , the
Issue , upon motion ,was orderd divided; half to go to the State
Bank and half' to Mr Coleimn.
Ordinance No . 388 , regulating; the sale of milk in the City of
Kent , was read and upon motion placed upon J.ts final passage
and carried by the unInimous vote of all of the Councilmen
present .
Ordinance No. 389 , providing for he Improvement of Blocks A ,B,
E and F , Meekers Sup . Plat , to Kent , by placing; lateral sewers
therein , was read and upon motion placed upon its .Final passage
and carried by the unanimous vote of all of the Councilmen
present .
Engineers estimate on the completion of the work on local imp.
district Ids . 148 , in amount of $2.06 .0Q , was read and allowed.
Resolution No . 151 B, setting time for the hearing on the asst .
roll , for L. I .D . ldo . 151 , was read and adopted as follows:
IT IS RESOLVED 13Y THF. CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENT :
That Lhe 7 day of August , 1916 , at the hour of 8 o ' clock P.M. ,
at the Council Chamber in the City Ball , at Kent , Washington ,
be and the same is fixed as the time and place for hearing on
the assessment roll for Local Iiuproveiuent District No . 151 ,
for the improvement of Meeker Street , Gowe Street , Titus Street ,
First Avenue and Railroad Avenue , by resurfacing the same with
a bitulitic topping.
That the City Clerk be and he is hereby directed to pub-
lish in the official newspaper of the City of Kent , notice t
thereof as required by law and the ordinances of the SUSI efty.
Resolution No . 154A , getting time for the hearing of the assess-
ment roll for Local Improvem:�nt Districe No . 154 , was read and
adopted as follows :
T I IS RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TTIE CITY OF KENT:
That the 7 day of August , 1916 , at the hour of 8 o ' clock P.M. ,
at :de Council Chambers in the City Hall , at Kent , Washington ,
be and the time is fixed as the time and place for hearing on
the assessment roll for Local Improvement Districe No . 154 ,
for tree improvement of State Street , by building along the east
side thereof a re6ulation wood sidewalk.
That the City Clerk be and he is Hereby directed to publish
in the official newspaper of the City of Kent , notice thereof
as required by lathy and the ordinances of the said City. .

Upon motion the matter of the drainage of Centrial Avenue
and the east side of the N. P. tracks vias refered to the
Sewage and Drainage Committee , to be reported back to the
Council , in shape for action to be .ken triereon , at the
next regular meeting thereof .
No further business appeatrirlg, the Council Upon motion,
did then adjourn.
