Merrifield Hdwe Co . , U. S. Rubber Co . , A. G. Long and Goodyear Rubber Co . , and upon mo- tion the Council accepted the bid of the Merrifield Hdwe Co . , for the Double Jacket "Guardian" hose , at a prd)ce of 65¢ . Bids for the resurfacing of the old pavement , L . I. D. No . 151 , were received and read from the Washington Paving Co. and from the Olympic Paving Co . and uppm motion the mat- ter of acceptance was refered to the Committee of the Whole Council , with Councilnj,n Overlock acting as Chairiian. The Committee of the Whole reported to the Council , rec- omending the gxzzkKxR acceptance of the bid of the Washington Paving Co . , for Bituilithic paving, at 930 per sq . yard; upon motion the recomendation of the Committee was accepted and the contract was awarded to the Washington Paving Co . Upon motion the Cleric was instructed to call for bids for the purchase of the Ituprovement bonds , L . I .D.No . 151 , bids to be opened July 17 , next . Ordinance No . 385 , approving assessment roll for side- walk district number 149 , was read and upon motion placed upon its final passage and carried by the unanimous vote of all of the Councilmen present .
