Regular meeting of the Council; present Mayor Hardy and
Councilmen Berlin, Chittenden, Look , Madison , Naden , and TaylaT,
Councilman Overlock coining in later.
Minutes of Sept .. 20" were read and approved. '
Communication from Mr. Bowen and others in regard to the
building of a State road between Renton & Kent , was read and
upon motion ref ered to the Street Coiwidttee with power to act .
Claims were read and ordered paid as follows:

Ordinance # 374, authorizing bond issue in L. I. D. #
I45 was read, placed upon its final passage and carried un— !i
animously.
Resolution # I46 and resolution # 147 , declaring intention
of the City to build sidewalk ware read and adopted as follows:
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Couzicil of the City of Kent ,
Washington , that it does hereby declare that the public safety

and convenience require that the sidewalk oil the north side of
Titus Street colmencing at the alley between Central Ave. and
Railroad Ave. and running thence west 20 ft . to a connection
With the Cement sidewalk already in place , and on which the
following property iir>tiiediately abuts , towit : .Lot I, Blk.
9 of
the Washington Central Improvement Companys First Addition to
the Town of Kent , Washington acid of which Ben,jalidn Ross iB the
owner.
The kind ofl .sidewalk required is a Cerrlent sidewalk as per
standard specifications a.s provided ill Ordinance # 254 of the
City of Kent ; the total cost of the same is about $ 30 .00 and
if the -owner or owners of the property iri.mediately abutting
thereon shall neglect or refuse to build said sidewalk within
twenty days front the service of the notice , then City shall
cause said work to be done and the costs and expenses thereof
shall be asse:�sed against the property abutting t1.le salve .
Resolution i# 147.
BE IT RESOLVM by the City Council of the City of Kent ,
Washington , that it does hereby, declare that the public safety
and convenience require that the sidewalk on the South side of
Meeker St.. commencing at its intersection with the East Mar-
ginal line- of Naden Ave.. and running thence east along the
South Max. line of said Meeker St . for a distance of 231:25
feet and on which the fo11-3mning property immediately abuts,.
to-Wit: Beginning on the South Haar. line of Meeker St . ,where
the same is intersected by the East 1&x. line of Naden Ave.
and running thence East , along the South side of Meeker St .
161.25, feet ; thence South ISO feet ; thence West 161.25 feet ;
thence North ISO feet -to the place of beginning, and of which
Mrs . Carrie Potter is the owner , or reputed owner..
Also the following, Begirilling at the 1101:th east corner
Of the above described tract of land on the south side of
Meeker St.. and running thence east 70 feet , thence South 180
feet , thence west 70 feet ; thence North ISO feet to the place
Of beginning, and of which the owner is Anne McGinnis.
The kind o2 sidewalk required is a wooden sidewalk as per
standard specifications as provided iri Ordinance # 40 of the
City of Kent ; the total cost of the Smile is about $ I03 .40 and
if the owner or owners- of the property ITMediately abutting 1

thereon shall neglect or refuse to renew said sidewalk within
twenty days from the service of the notice, the City shall
cause said work: to be done and the costs and expenses thereof
shall be assessed against the property abutting the same.
Ordinance # 375 making tax levy for the year 1916 , was
read , placed upon its final passage and j2arried unanimously.
No further business appearing the Council , upon Motion,
then adjourn.
