special ineeting of the Council, called for the purpose
of deciding the matter of acceptance of the water pipe , de-
livered on the water system by mr.. I�trnes , it being, thnough
Borne- error , not the fault of tiie Contractor , different from
that d:?scribed in the specifi•Ations .
The Mayor and all of the Gouncilinerl being pzeoent and it
appearing to the Council that the pipe , as delivered, was of
standard quality and worth the price that the City is to pay
for the same , and that if' a cha4�e be nra de now it would take
several months time , aYid that the City would be without the use
of the new rriains during; the sunnier when they are most needibd;
a motion was nade to place a penality of 0500.00 on the contractor
and alow him to lay the pipe , a riiotion was Made to amend by nuking '
the penality $300.00 ; the question being upon the amendment , it was
carried, and the motion as aiiiended, uraking the penalty $300.00 ,
was then put to a vote and carried.
There being no further business to come before the meeting,
the council , upon ration, did then adjourn ,
