Kent , Washington, Septemer 15 , 1913 .
Regular meeting of the Council ; present Mayor Bereiter and
Councilmen Clarkson, Pulp , McKenzie , Naden, Ra.sinussen and Tucker.
Councilman Hardy coming In later.
Minutes of Septeitber 2" were read and approved.
Claims were read and ordered paid as follows :

Ordinance # 350 ordering improvement of District # I)�I , was
read, placed upon its final passage and carried by the following
vote : Councilman Clarkson, Hardy , Fulp and McKenzie voting "Aye"
and Councilmen Rasimssen and Tucker voting "Nay. "
Resolution # 142 was read and adopted as follows :
IT is resolved by the City Council of the City of Kent , in
King County , State of Washington, that it do , and it does hereby
declare its intention of improving that portion of the west side
of Second Street adjacent to and in front of Lot 2 in block 10 of
Yesler ' s I" addition to the town of Kent , by placing along the west
side of Second Street , from the north side of Willis along the east
line of Lot 2 in Block I0 , Yesler 's I" addition to Kent , a wooden
sidewalk six feet wide with proper connections and supports as irray
be necessary. And doing such other work as may be necessary in
connection therewith, all in accordance with plans and specificat-
ions to be prepared by the City Engineer.
That all persons who rrray desire to object to the said improve-
ment are hereby notified to appear and present such objections at
a meetinE; of the City Council to b - held III the Council ChLairmer , in
the City Hall , in the City of Kent , at S o ' clock P. M. , on the 20"
day of October 191.3 , which time and place is hereby fixed for the
hearing of all rrratters relating to said irnproveinent , and all ob-
jections thereto , and for determining the. method of payment for said
improvement .
That the City Clerk is directed to submit to the City Council
at or prior to said Ute , all data and information required by law
to be so submitted.
That the cost and expense of said iirlprovement stiall be borne
by and assessed against the property liable therefor as provided by
law.
Resolution # I43 was read and adopted as follows :
' IT is resolved by the City Council of the City of Kent , in
King Couniby , State of Washington, that it do ) and it doer; hereby
declare its intention of Iirmroving that portion of the south side
of Gowe Street from the east line of State Street to the north-
west corner of Lot I4 block 7 , W. C . I. Co . First addition to the
City of Kent , by bringing the same to a proper grade , and construct-
ing thereon a wooded sidewalk along that portion Ofthe south side
of Gowe street from the east line of State Street running east to
a Juliction with the sidewalk already constructed at the northwest
corner of lot I4 in block 7 of Washington Central Improvement Co.
First addition to Kent , being along the south side of Lots I0, II ,
12 and 13 of said block 7. And doing such other work as may be nec—
essary in connection therewith, all in accordance with plans and
specifications to be prepared byX the City Engineer.

That all persons who nay desire to object to the said improve-
ment are hereby notified to appear and prasent such objections at
a meeting of the City Council to be held in the Council Chamber , in
the City Hall , in the City of Kent , at 8 o 'clock P . M. , on the 201,
day of October 1913 , which time and place is hereby fixed for the
hearing of all natters relating to said imrovement , and all ob-
jections thereto , and for determining the method of payment for
said improvement .
That the City Clerk is directed to submit to the City Council
at or prior to said date , all data and infornaticIn required by law
to be so submitted.
That the cost and expense of said improvement._ shall be borne
by and assessed against the property liable therefor as provided
by law.
Estimate for strBet work was read and allowed A. K. Dye as
follovis :
