Regular meeting of the council; present Mayor Bereiter & council-
men Clarkson , Pulp , Mckinzie , Naden , Rasiiussen , and Tucker.
Minutes of April 7th. read and approved.

The P. C. C. X. Co. presented a protesYon the bill presented as their
share of the cost of changing the pipe iunder the N. P. Ry. Co . tracks
The same was refered to the Sewer Coimrdttee .
Bid opened fOr the improvement of the alley iz. block 3 Yeslers Ird.
Add. to Kent , District No. 136 as follows , 'N. T. Barnes$372 .80.
Upon motion the contract was awarded to N. T. Barnes for 0372.80.
Bids opened for sidewalk on Central along the west side of block II
W. C. I. Co. Ird. Add. to Kentgpened and read as follows , L. C.
Thornhi11440. 80 upon motion the contract was awarded to L.C .Thornhill
Ordinances #341 fixing d64 tax was read and upon motion placed upon
final passage and carried by the following vote , Councilmen Clarkson
Pulp , Hardy , Mckinzie , & Rasmussen voting I'Aye° and Councilmen Naden
and Tucker votin ° Nay"
No more buisnesse taking place the Council did then Adjourn.

That the- City Clerk be and is hereby directed to publish in the
official` newspaper of the City of Kent , notice thereof as required
by law and the ordinances of the said City.

It is resolved by the City Council of the City of Kent , that
the2 day of June 1913 , at the hour of 8 oclock P.D . at the Council
Chanter in the City Hall , at Kent Washington ,be and the same is
fixed as the time and place for hearing; on the assessment roll for
Local Imp . Dist. #13 7 for the improvement of the east sbde of Central
Ave. along the west side of B1k.II , W.C. I.Co ' c Iu Add. to Kent a re-
gulation wooden sidewalk as provided by ordinance #340. That the City
Clerk be and is hereby directed to publish in the official newspaper
of the City of Kent , noticeas required by law and the ordinances of
thesdidt City. .
The following resolutions declaring intentions of the City Council
to make improvements was read and adopted.

It is resolved by the City Council of the City of Kent in the
King County of the State of Washingtontha.t it do and it does hereby
declare its intention of the improvement of Saar street , from the
east side of railroad Avenue to the west marginal line of Central
Avenue ,* by bringing the same to grade to a width of 40 feet along
the center thereof', establishing and building along; the sides thereof
at a distance of I2 feet from the Center line , shoulders of the
heighth -of S inches , and covering the 24foot strip betwaen the said
shoulders with a coat of crushed rock of the depth of 8 inches ,
crowned to a heighth of six inches in the center thereof , and doing
such other work as may be necessary in connection therewith, all in
accordance with plans and specifications to be prepared by the City
Engineer.That all persons who may desire to object to the said im-
provement are hereby notified to appear and present such objections
at a n etin of the City Council to be held in the Council Chamber , in
the City Hall , in the City of Kent at 8 oclock P.M. on the 2nd. day
of Jenne* 1913 , which t i ira and place is hereby fixed for the. hearing of
all inat-ters relating to said improvement @-rust all objections thereto ,
and for- determinin, the method of paying; for said iiq)rovemeiit . That
the City Clerk is directed to suldiait to the City Council at or prior
to said' date , all data and information required by law to be submittal
That th"e cost and expense of said improvement shall be borne by and
assessed against the property liable therefor as provided by law..

It` is revolved by the City Council of Kent , in King, County , stat
of Washingdyonthat it do and it does hereby declare its intention of
improving Willis Street from the East line of the Northern Pacific
Railroad ri®ht of wa.V , to the west boundary line of the Puget Sound
Electric railroad right of way , also second street from the Idoeth
line of- Saar St. south to a junction with the proposed improvement on
Willis' St. By bringing the same to a proper grade to the width of
40ft. al.omg the center thereof , establishing - and building ",long the
sides thereof at a distance of I2feet from the center line , shoulders
of the' heighth of 8 inches; establishing; and building; along; each
side of, the street the entire length of the said improvement , a. wood-
en curb accordine� to plans and specifications here after to be sub-
mitted ,' and covering the twenty four foot strip , between the said
shoulders , with a coat of crushed rock to the depth of eight inches ,
crowned to a height of six inches in the center thereof , and doing
such other work as Irkly be necessary in conection therewith , all in
accordance with plains and specifications to be prepared by the City
19ngineer That all persons who nay desire to object to the said irn-
provermet are hereby notified to appear and present such pbjectiong
at a meeting; of the City Council to be helh ill the Council Charmer
in the City Hall in the City of Kent at 8 oclock P.M. on the 2 day
of June 1913 .
