Kent , Wash. , Oct . 2I , I912 .
Regular meeting of the -Council; present Mayor Bereiter and Coun-
ci lrneri Boucher , Coble , Fulp , Hardy , Na den and Tucker.
Minutes of Oct. 7 were read and approved.
A petition for street lights in the North Park Addition was read
-- and refered to the Light CormiAttee.
The Claim of the American Contracting Co. for balance on Street
paving was ordered paid as follows : Imp! Dist. # I249 $3602.II;
Imp. Dist. # 125 ,. $1074.90•
Ordinance # 32y, providing for Willis and Railroad Avenue side-
walk inprovement ,was read and upon motion places upon its final
passage and carried the unanimous vote of all of the Councilmen
present .
Ordinance # 32,f, fixing salary of the City Clerk , was read and
upon motion placed upon its final passage and carried by the unan-
imous vote of the Councilmen present .
Resolution _# 135 , declaring intention to improve Fifth Avenue
by $idewalking the east side thereof was read and upon motion
adopted unanimously , as follows :
IT is resolved by the City Council of the City of Kelit , in King
County , State of Washington , that it do , and it does hereby declaPe
ots intention of improving Fifth Avenge from the North matgIrial
line of Crow Street to a point I06 .32 feet north of the south terirr
irus of said Avenue , by building along the east side thereof a.
wooden sidewalk with cross walks at street intersections , and do-
ing such other work as may be necessary in connection therewith,
all in accordance with plans and specifications to be prepared by
the City Engineer , and as set forth in City Ordinances.
That. all persons who nra.y desire to object to the said improvement
are hereby notified to appear and present such objections at a meet-
ing. of the City Council to be held in the Council Chamber , in the
City Hall, i11 the City of Kent , at g 'o ' clock P. M. , on the eighteen-
th day of November I9I2 , which time and place is hereby fixed for
the. hearing of all matters relating to said improvement , and all
objections thereto , and for determining the method of payment for
said improve dent.
That the City Clerk is directed to submit to the City Council at
or prior to said date , all data and information required by law to
be so submitted.
That the cost and expense of said improvement shall be borne by
and assessed against the property liable therefor as provided by law .
Claims .were read and ordered paid as follows: Hayward Trans. , St-
reet work and freight & drayage , $7.65; J. A. Hallett , Street work
and freight & drayage , $11.50.
Election Boards for the primary election to be held Nov. 5 , were
appointed as follows
Precinct # I .

C. C. Boatman and D. S. Gould , Clerks.
Precinct # 2.

Upon motion the Council did then adjourn ,
