Kent , Wash. , Sept. 16, 1912.
Regular meeting of the Council; present Wor Bereiter and Council-
me►n ,.Boucher, Coble, Pulp, Hardy , Harper, Baden and Tucker.
Minutes of September 2" were read and approved.

filed against the assessment roils for Local
IMP* DiskI$ I27, 128s, 199 and 130, Ordinances # 3n, 315, 31C
317 and 318, approving the said assessment roils for .the said Imp.
Diets. , were read, placed upon their final passage and carried by the
unanimous vote of all of the Councilmen present.
Ordtnauoe # 319 and 320, authorizing the Mayor and Clerk to issue
1,0 Sands. against Local Imp. Diets. # 121) and I25 respectively were
d,rea placed upon their final passage and carried by the unanimous
vote of all of the Councilmen present.
The lire Chief made a verbal report of the condition of the fire
aperatus and .the Clerk was instructed to have the hydrant at Meeker
and Haden Streets fixed.
Upon tao request of the Fire Dept. the mayor appointed Mr. C. G.
Chittendon and Xr. Goo, Hamft , Fire Marshals , to be swarn in and have
parer to =a* arrests at fires only; the appointments were conf i r me d
by the unanimous vote of the Council.
Upon motion a warrant was ordered drawn in favor of Mr. Goo. F. Aust
for $85*00 in payment of right of way across the Baker place.
The following resolution declaring intention to make improvement
was read and adopted by the following vote: Councilmen Boucher, Coble,
Pulp, Hardy and Harper voting "aye" and Councilmen Baden and Tucker
voting ' nay***
IT is resolved by the City Council of the City of Kent , in KLng County,
State of Washington, that it do, and it does hereby declare its inten-
tion of improving that portion of Railroad Avenue between Titus St.
and Willis Sto also tbXt portion of Willis Street connecting Rail-
road Avenue in the Washington Central Imptovement CoaparWla First
Addition to Kent , with Railroad Avenue in the Original tounsite of
Kent, by pacing along the west side of said portion of Railroad
Avenue a wooden sidewalk with connecting cross talks where necessary ,
and along the north side of said Willis Street a wooden sidewalk to
connect the said sidewalk along Railroad Avenue with the existing
sidewalk on the north slide of Millis Street at a point about 50 feet
west of the nortMost corner of Railroad Avenue and Willis Street ,
and doing Wuch other work as may be necessary in connection therewith,
all in accordance with plans and specifications to be prepared by
the City Engineer.
That all persons who may desire to object to the said improvement
ate hereby notified to appear and present such objections at a meeting
of the City Council to be held in the Council Chager, in the City
Hall, in the City of Kent , at 8 o 'clock P. M. , on the 2I" day of Oct.
1912, which time and place is hereby fixed for the hearing of all
'matters relating to said improvement , and all objections thereto, j
and for deteraining the method of payment for slid improvement.
That the City Clerk is directed to submit to the City Council at
or prior to said date, all data and information required by law to
be so submitted.
That the cost and expense of said improvement shall be borne be
and assessed against the property liable therefor as provided by law.

The Clerk Was instructed to readvertise for bids for the sidewalk
on the west side of Central Avenue from Meeker Street to Titus $trod ,
Disco # r3. Also to notify the Snoqualmie Power Co. to- close up
the building at Railroad Avenue and Willis Street.
Upon motion it was decided to discontinue the three lights at
Central Avenue and Titus Street and r&313* 0 them with one large light.

Block 24 of Feeler 's First addition-, was presented and on motion was
approved and the letyor and Clerk authorized to execute the same on
behalf of the City, by the unanimous vote of the Council.
