Kent , Wash. , August 26 , 1912.
Special meeting of the Council; present Mayor Bereiter and Coun-
cilmen Boucher,, Coble, Pulp, Hardy , Naden and Tucker.
The following resolution authorizing the sale of Bonds in Local
Cup. Dist. # 194 was read and adopted*
A resolution accepting the bid of Carstens & Earles , Incor-
porated, for the purchase of the entire issue of bonds issued in
L4ca1 Imp. Dist. # 124, of the City of Kent , State of Washington,
and authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into a contract
with said Carstens & Earles, Incorporated, for the sale of said
bonds, and authorizing the delivery of said bonds in accordance
with such contract.
WHEREAS, Carstens & Earles , Incorporated, have submitted
a bid for the entire issue of bonds issued for the paving of cert-
ain streets , in Local Imp. Dist. # I242 of the City of Kent , State
of Washington, the total issue not to exceed Pifteen Thousand Doll-
ars ( $15 ,000.00 ), said bonds to bear interest from date of issue
at the rate of eight per cent per annum, payable annually, both
principal and interest payable at the office of the City Treasure
of Kent , Washington said bonds being in denomination of One Hun-
dred Dollars each (#I00.00 ) nanbered consecutively, and due on or
Tefore five years from date , said bid t1eing for the par value of
said bonds plus I of I� premium with accrued interest to the date
of delivery, said offer being subject to the approval of the leg-
ality of said ponds, and the steps leading up to their issuance ,
by the attorneys of said Carstens & Earles , Incorporated, and the
delivering of a complete certified transcript of all the proceed-
ings to said Carstens & Earles, Incorporated, and also the deliver-
ing of the bonds to said Carstens & Earles , Incorporated, at Seattiq
Washington; and,
WA�RSAS, said offer is the best offer made for said bonds ,
and it is to the interest of the said City to accept the some;
Rows THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED bS the City Council of the
City of Kent , Washington:
That said bid of said Carstens & Barles, Incorporated, for
said bonds in said Local Imp. Dust. # I24 of the City of Kent , Wash-
ington, be and the same is hereby accepted, and'the Mayor and City
Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract
with said Carstens & Earles, Incorporated, for the sale of said
bonds in accordance with said bid,
The following resolution authorizing the sale of the bonds in
Local Imp. Dist. # 125 was read and accepted:
A resolution accepting the bid of Carstens & Earles , In-
corporated, for the purchase of the entire issue of bonds issued
in Local Imp. Dist. # 225 of the City of Kent , state of Washington ,
and authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into a contract
with said Carstens & Sarles, Incorporated, for the sale of said bonds ,
and authorizing the delivery of said bonds in accordance with such
contract.
W S. Carstens & Barles , Incorporated, have submitted
abid for the entire issue of bonds issued for the paving of certain
Streets, In Local Isgrrovement Dist. # 125 of the City of Kent State
of Washington , the total issue not to exceed four thousand five
--- hundred dollars$ $4,500,00 ), said bonds to bear interest from date
of issue at the rate of eight per cent per annum, payable annually ,
both principal and interest payable at the office of the City Treas-
urer of Kent , Washington, said bonds being in denomination of one
hundred dollars each, nuatered consecutively, and due on or before
five years from date, Said bid being for the par value of said
bonds plus I of I� premium with accrued interest to the date of
delivery , said offer being subject to the approval of the legality
of said bonds and the steps leading up to their issuance by the
attorneys of said Carstens & Earles , Incorporated, and the delivering,
of a complete certified transcript of all the proceedings to said

Carstens & Earles , Incorporated, and also the delivering of the
benQe to said Carstens and Earles , Incorporated, at Seattle,
Washington; and,
EMUS, said offer is the best offer made -for said bonds ,
and it is the interest of said City to accept the same;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Kent :
That said bid of said Carstens & Earles, Incorporated, for
said bonds in said Local imp. Dist. # 125 of the City of Kent be
and the same is hereby accepted, and the Mayor and City Clerk
are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contr&et with
said garstens & Barles , Incorporated, for the sale of said bonds
In accordinance with said bid.
Upon motion the contracts presented by Carstens & Earles for the
purchase of the bonds in Imp. Dists. # I24 and 225 was approved.
Upon motion the Marshal was instructed to inforce the provisions
Of Sect. 24 of Ordinance 244 and to see that the streets are kept
clear of vehicles.
Upon motion the Council did then adjourn,
