Special meeting of the Council , held at the office of the City Treasurer, for the purpose of considering the bids on $ 17,000, refunding bonds, as provided in Ordinance # 297 and notices and resolutions passe* and approved. Present Mayor Bereiter and Councilmen Boucher , Coble , Hardy , Nad= and Tucker. Eight bids were opened and after due consideration and upon motion duely made and seconded, it was decided to accept the bid of E. H. Rollins & Sons of Denver , Colo. as being the best and most advantage- ous bid offered, and the following resolution awarding the bonds to them was presented and adopted unanimously: WHEREAS, by virtue of the provisions of Ordinance # 297, of the City of Kent , in King Counly , Washington., approved on the 6* day of May 29i2 , the issue of general funding bonds of the said City was authorized in the sum of Seventeen Thousand Dollars, for the pur- pose of refunding outstanding bonds known as THE TOWN OF KENT WATER AND LIGHT BONDS to the amount of Seventeen Thousand Dollars and WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of said ordinance and the laws of the state of Washington, the City Council , of the City of Kent , caused a notice to be published in the City official newspaper as by law provided, calling for bids or proposals Oor the purchase of the said refunding bonds , and naming June ION 1912 at the hour of seven o'clock P. M. , at the office of the City Treasurer of said City as the time and place for opening and considering the said bids by the said City Council and the said City Treasurer , - - which notice and call for bids was in the form and substance as by law provided , and now on this 100 day of June 1912 , at the hour of 7 o'clock P. M. , the said City Council meeting with the said City Treasurer at his office , in the said City , opened and proseeded to consider the said bids , and find that the following bids are affered: E. H. Rollins & Sons , Denver , Colorado. The Dexter Horton National Bank , Seattle , Washington. Northern Bank and Trust Company , Seattle , Washington. J. H. Chausey & Company , Denver, Colorado. Merchants Savings and Trust Co. , Portland, Oregon. Carstens & Earles , Incorporated, Seattle , Washington. John E. Price & Co. , Seattle, Washington. Hoehler & Cummings, Toledo , Ohio. On consideration whereof the said City Council and the said City Treasurer find that the bid of E. H. Rollins & Sons IS the best and most advantageous bid offered; that the same is reasonable , and that a greater or better bid could not be expected nor a lower rate of interest secured if further bids were called, it is therefore, RESOLVED, that the bid of the said E. H. Rollins & Sons to pay for the said bonds the sum of Seventeen Thousand Nineteen & •9/00------ Dollars and furnish the bonds and pay accured interest on the same to date of delivery; said bonds to bear interest at the rate of 5 f annum payable semi annually, be and the same is hereby accepted and the sale of the said bonds to them is hereby directed, and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to cause the said bonds to be printed or lithographed , SAd to execute the same on f# behalf of the City , and to Complete the sale and deliv- ery thereof , and the redemption of the said outstanding bonds there- with all ih accordance with the provisions of the said Ordinance # 297, at the earliest practicable date. The Council did then adjourn to the Council Shamber for the consid- eration of further business pertaining to the Inp. work in Imp.
