Regular meeting of the Council; present Mayor Bereiter and Councilmen Coble, Pulp , Hardy , Harper , Haden and Tucker. Co- uncilman Boucher coming in later. Minutes of May 60 were read and approved. Upon motion the Attorney was instructed to close the deal for a rigkt of way with Mrs. Baker. Upon motion a warrant was ordered drawn in favor of the Co. Treasurer for $ 8.75 , transcribing report on exporting books. Bill of N. T. Barnes for $ 265.90 for addition on hose tower was read and ordered paid. Resolution # I27 , declaring intention to improve Clark Street, was read and adopted-as follows: IT Is resolved by the City Council of the City of -Kent , in King County, state of Washington, that it do, and it does here- by declare its intention of improving Clark Avenue , from its Intersection with Smith Street to its intersection with James Street; and Cedar Street from its intersection with Clark Ave- nue to its intersection with Jason Avenue - - - - - - - - - - By bringing the same to grade and grading a strip along the center of said Clark Avenue and said Cedar between the termini above named, and of the width of 48 feet , crowning the same sufficiently for a roadway , and proviiing for the drainage of the same; and doing such other work as may be necessary in conn- ection therewith, all in accordance with plans and specificat- ions to be prepared by the City Engineer. That all persons who may desire to object to the said Improve- ment are hereby notified to appear and present such objections at a meeting of the City Council to be held in the Council Chamber , in the City Hall, in the City of Rent , at eight o 'clock P. M. , on the 179 day of JLne , 1912 , which time and place in hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to said improvement , and all objections thereto, and for determining the method of payment for said Improvement. That the City Clerk is directed to submit to the City Council at or prior to said date, all data and information required by law to be so submitted. That the cost and expense of said omprovement shall be borne by and assessed agaibst the proprty liable therefor as provided by law. Resolution # 129 , declaring intention to improve Haden Street , was read and adopted as follows: IT is resolved by the City Council of the City of Rent , in King County, State of Washington, that it do , And it does hereby declare its intention of improving Haden Avenue in the said City from and including its intersection with Willis Street to its intersection with Meeker Street , by bringing the same to the established grade , for the width of forty feet along the center thereof, making a shoulder six inche& high along the said avenue a distance of 19 feet from the center line thereof on each side , and crowning the 24 foot strip between the said shoulders to a heighth of six Inches at the center line of the said avenue and covering the said 24 foot strip with a coat of crushed rock six inch#& deep at all points, and doing such other work as may be necessary in connect- ion therewith, all in accordance with plans and spefifications to be prepared by the 01ty Engineer. That all persons who may desire to object to the said improve- ment are hereby notified to appear and present ft� such object- ions at a meeting of the City Council to be held in the Council Chamber , in the City Hall , in the City of Kent, at 8 o 'clock P.M. , on the 17" day of Sune 1912 , which time and place is hereby fixed 1 X N F,C 39 for the hearing of all matters relating to said improvement , and all object6ons thereto , and for determining the method of payment for said Improvement. That the City Clerk is directed to submit to the City Council at or prior to said date, all data and information required by law to be so submitted. That the cost and expense of said improvement shall be borne by and assessed Against the property liable therefor as provided by law. --------------------- Resolution # 130 , declaring intention to improve Shinn Street , was read and adopted as follows: IT is resolved by the City Council of the City of Kent , in King County , State of Washington, that it do, and it does hereby declare its intention of improving that portion of Shinn street in the said City , extending from Second Avenue to the west4;T dary limits of the said City , by bringing the same to the established grade for the width of forty feet along the center thereof , making shoulders six inches in heighth along the said street I2 feet distant from the Center line thereof and crowning the said 24 foot strip between the said shoulders to the heighth of six inches at the center line of the street , and cotering the said 24 foot strip with a coating of Brushed rock six in- ches deep at all points, and doing such other work as may be necessary in connection therewith, all in accordance w@th plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer. That all persons who may desire to object to the said Improve- ment are hereby notified to appear and present such objections at a meeting of the City Council to be held in the Council Cham%- er , in the City Hall , in the City of Rent , at 8 o'clock P. Y. , on the 174 day of June 1912 , which time and place is hereby fix- ed for the hearing of all matters relating to said improvement , and all objections thereto, and for determining the method of payment for said improvement. -- That the City Clerk is directed to submit to the City Council at or prior to said date, all data and information required by law to be so submitted. That the sost and expense of said improvement shall be borne by and assessed against the property liable therefor as provided by law.
