Regular meeting of the Council ; present Mayor Bereiter and Councilmen Boucher , Fupp , Harper , Naden and Tucker. Councilmen Coble and Hardy coming in later. Minutes of January end, were read and approved. Treasurer 's report for the quarter ending December 31st. , was read and refered to the Finance Committee. The Special Committee appointed to look into the matter of in- stalling a City Scale , reported recommending the purchase and in- stal3ation of scales. Upon motion the report was adopted and the scales ordered installed by the following vmte , Councilmen Boucher , Fulp , Hardy , Harper and Naden voting "aye ," and Councilmen Coble and Tucker voting 11nay. 11 Councilmen Naden , Hardy and Tucker were appointed a Committee to see that the scales were installed. The Clerk was upon motion instructed to put the two school hou- ses upon a meter. Bids for the improvement of Railroad Avenue by sidewalkin , Dis. No. I22 , were opened and read as follows : N. T. Barnes , IOg per foot or $76.80; Cris Igoe 120 per foot or $90.00. Upon motion the contract was awarded to Mr. Barnes for IOJO per foot or 076 .80 The Light Committee recommended that a light be installed at the south end of Second Street , by the residence of Mr. Frank Field. Upon motion the recommendation was adopted and the light ordereod installed. The matter of the refunding, of part of the shooting galary license to Mr. Ben York was refered to the License Committee. Upon motion the Building Committee was instructed to have a toi- let put in the City Hall. The matter of paymng an Engineer a monthly salary was upon motion posponed until next meeting. The Clerk was instructed to Notify Mr. I . P . Calhoun to have his place on Central Avenue connected to the drain as the water from the kitchen sink will otherwise be running into the street . The Clerk was instructed to settle with Mr. C. L. Taylor for water on the basis of his general average for the last six months. Upon motion the City Attorney was instructed to prepare the ne- cessary resolution declaring Intention to sidewalk the west side of Central Avenue, from Meeker Avenue to Titus Street.
