November 29 , 1973
Special meeting of the Kent City Council was called to order at 5 :45 p.m.
Present: Mayor Hogan, Councilmen Baffaro, Just, Kitto, Martell and Thornton,
City Administrator Street, City Attorney Mirk, Public Works Director Ulett,
Finance Director Winkle. Absent: Councilmen Elliott and Masters.
TAX LEVY Ordinance 1846 fixing the tax levy for 1974 was introduced.
KITTO MOVED for passage of the ordinance, Martell seconded.
Kitto asked if adoption of the ordinance left the City
without means of protesting the figures. Street noted
that it was necessary to adopt the ordinance today but
that the City planned to protest. City Attorney Mirk
explained that this action would adopt the ordinance based
on the assessed valuation figures given to us by the
King County Assessor and would not necessarily mean that
we are accepting the figures . Motion carried unanimously.
MEETING ADJOURNED: 5 :50 p.m.
