Regular meeting of the City Council present Mayor Mooney
Councilmen, Cur--an,Parsons, Pozzi, Scott, Shaffer, Strain,
Thornton;
Minutes read and approved. of the last regular meeting;
City Engineer reported on, a relief manhole at the river
for the Treatment Plant and stated that it would not be
practic&l:.
Kenoshia Street was again discussed by the Engineer and
Mr. Boyle the Business Manager of the School District, and
at their next Board meeting they will discuss it further.
City Engineer received a letter From A Mr. Garth Anderson
f6#m Eastern Washington in regard to an Engineering job
as the City F.ngineerts assistant, Mayor instructed the
City Engineer to write Mr. Anderson a letter and request him
to place his application for the position.
Councilman Scott reported to the Council that a six inch
cast iron pipe broke .at the Treatment Plant and has caused a
shut down until it is fixed, at this time the Valley G _,:; ' --,1.
Construction Co has been hired to dig out the pipe so that it
can be replaced, it being about 18ft. below the surface.
Scott also reported that the Valley Construction Co was re-
newing their work on the sewer line to-day, and they thought
they would have the job done on time.
Councilman Scott also informed the council that the committee
was renewing their drive on old garbage cans, and no lids.
City Engineer was instructed to start on the South end sewer
LID when he had the present assesment rolls completed.
Councilman Pozzi announced that the three street meetings
was more or less of a success.
Councilman Curran had an application from Otis Little for
the extension of the water main on Clark Ave. 360t North of
James` Street,Motion of Council request granted if paid for
by Mr. Little and installed under supervision of Water Foreman.
Plans drawn by Hill & Ingman were oked. by our City Engineer
and they now stand as O.Ked, to proceed when needed, for the
Nofbh End water main.
Mr. Chet Wood stated that they would have a report on the
Rock Creek Survey by the U. S.Geological Division. , he stated
that the low flow was after our peak season. , also reported
on the Ranney well drilling apd at present it was at a stand-
5till, but the Ranny Co would like to make another test at a
sight near Auburn.
Councilman Curran announced a meeting at 7:30 P.M. at the
City Hall for all the Council, Jan. 15th. and at 9; 30 P.M.
the same evenning a meeting with the Kent Planning Commission
and for the Clerk to notify the Planning Commission of same.
Councilman Strain is working on the betterment of the street
light system, will report back at the next meeting, . Motion
passed to instruct the Clerk to write a letter .to the State
Hiway Engineers to have installed an iluminated sign on the
three Lane drive down Canyon Drive.
Councilman Parsons reported on two meetings with the Blue
Banner officials in regard to a new lease contract, and for
how much the street dept should do to the drive in from
Meeker to the Blue Banner Plant, and the subject of repairing
the roof. , and for the Engineer to set the load limit on the
floor of the Blue Banner Building.
Motion passed to call for bids on the reroofing, down spouts,
and gutters on the Blue Banner Building.
Motion passed to have the Engineer write a letter to the
School Board ,^ on Kenoshia Street.
One bid received on the installation of a new motor in the
street dump truck, Bid was read from the C& J Auto Sales, for
the amount of "$550.00 plus tax. Motion made to reject bid and-
seconded, after discussion the motion was withdrawn and the
second. Motion passed to let bid if bidder furnished full
itemized account of repair to the satisfaction of the Street;
Opmmittee, and place on file with the bid.

Nearing declared opened on LID 232 no one being present
to object, the hearing was pronounced closed. Ordinance No.
941 read and by Motion passed to confirm and approve the
final assessment roll for LID 232.
Petition received and read to vacate a certain alley for
the School District North of Pioneer and between State and
Central Ave. was referred to the City Engineer.
Motion passed to- have the Clerk sell the LID 232 Bonds
across the counter.
Motion passed to have the City Engineer check the Water
Transmission line easement , with Mr. Drake Engineer for
Hauge Armstrong, Mr. Drakes survey shows the transmission
main out of the Easment strip.this being on the 1930
easement to Mr. Carpenter,.
Motion passed to have City Attorney draw ordinances to name
Canyon Drive, and North Central Ave. in the new annexations.
