Regular meeting of the City Council present Mayor Mooney
Councilmen Curran, Parsons, Pozzi, Scott, Sheffer Strain,
Thornton;
Minutes read and approved of the last regular meeting accept
Hearing on LID 232 to be held on December 17th, if possible.
Mr. Sherwood reported on LID 232 that the StAte dial not in-
tend to pay for the removal of side.ralks across the street , or
pay for the replacement of concrete i i the radius, statdd that
the city most likley would have to stand this expense, and also
that he would have, the assessment roll complete by next week.
Councilman Thornton reported that the Chief of Police did
not recommend that 3rd. ave. so be made into an artitialptreet.
Councilman Curran reported on the Engineerts report on the
two water projects, that by going down the East side of Mill
Creek the city would save around 06,000.00. and also reported
that an el"eva.ted tank was needed on thh East Hill in the City
for greater pressure.
Councilman Scott made a report on Mr. Littles Sewer, that
it should be treated as a regular City sewer laterAl, and it
must have a manhole at James Street and at the !North End shall
have a lamp-hole. , with inspection of the City Engineer.
Motion passed to grant Per. Little the construction old the
sewer as long as it was constructed on city standards, and our,
city engineer to approve same* w
Mr. Chet Woods of hilt C:. Ingman Engine yring Co explained to
the Council Change order No. ? for the payment of material on
the job but not in place, and requested of the council as to
the payment bf the pipe before it is placed in the ground, owing
to the fact that the job has been slowed down account of wet
j soil conditions. Motion passed to accept the change order No
2 and for the ;Mayor and Clerk to ::sign same. for the amount of
p121000.00.
Councilman Pozzi made a report to the council on the street
improvement idea of holding hearings for the people to express
their vi_bws as to the improvement of streets in front of their
places, the intent of the Street committee is to hold three
such meeting's, the first one to be }Meld Dec . 7, 1956 at the
City Mall.
Motion" for clerk to write a letter to Mr. Ullery on Sam
Street explaining the request of his to have the City dis-
continue the practic of letting housing project houses be
moved into the City. the councilts feeling on the matter is
that as long as they comply to the building code they may
continue to be moved into the city.
Motion passed to have the Engineer write a letter to the
School Board in regard to Ronoshia street
Letter received from Blue Danner oods rejuesting a meeting
with the Council to talk over a new leaFe . Councilman Parsons
will look intro the matter.
Resolution No. 369 passed the unanimpus vote of the council
setting Monday January 7, 1957 as a hearing date for LID 232
and to have the clerk post as law provides, " publish" at such
time the roll is in the hands of the clerk.
Ordinance No. 937 passed for the repaaling the Admission
Tax Ordinance No. 731.
Ordinance No. 938 Passed to amend parts of ordinance 913
Subsection (a) of Section 9.
Ordinance read on license fee for carnivals or other like
amusements, for 1400.00 per day, reconuendation by finance
committee tdQ rewritten by City Attorney to rp d Q400.00
min. or 1100.00 per day.
