Regular meeting of the City Council present Mayor pro-tem Thornton, councilmen Curran, Parsons,Pozzi, Scott , Shaffer, Strain Thornton; Minutes read and approved from the last regular meeting acccpt ; Strain and Thornton attended the oral meeting of the U of W Survey. and a letter of request from the Libraian Mrs. Anna Fisher to work another year before retirement , Motion passed to retain Mrs. Fisher as Librarian for an other year before retirement. Report of officers presented and filed, budget, Treasurer' s and Clerk' s Repaort. At this time bids were opened and read for the construction of a sanitary sewer, LID 234 in the Merrie Hill addition and Stonecrest addition.Bid read from Valley Construction Co. Frank Coluccio;Sposari & Macri;, I(arold E. Olds;and Matt Malaspina;being; council recessed for 15 minutes with the City Engineer for study of the bids, cgnucil reconvened and by motion assed awarded the bid to Matt Malaspina the low bidder at 9 12,127.22. Motion passed to have power steering placed on the grader owing to the fact that after the overhaul it has so much power that the operator cannot hold it to the edge of the street. Street committee reported that Mr. Iles of the school Dist. reported that he was in favor of letting the sidewalks ride until an overall LID was created in that district. Councilman Curran- recommended that Hill & Nrman proceed with the East Hill water Plan forthe cost o6()0.00 as letter read and motion passed to accept proposal for D600.00 after some discussuon motion was passed to table the motion. Motion passed to have Hill & Ingman proceed on original contract and letter of July 16, and as described in letter of September 7th. 1956. Committee from the Cemetary was present and requested a so lution to t4,ier water bills for the Cemetary, stating that they were to high and as it was mote or less of a community project and a non proff4 t body, and requested a special rate for the Cemetary, or annexation to tie City. Council informed the committee that they would consider there application to come a part of the City. Motion passed to instruct the City Attorney to draw papers to clear old water easement on ground at the insection of the Molke Rd. and the Hamilton Rd. Motion to have the Clerk write a letter to the Power Company for the installation of a residence street light at Marion St. and VandeVanter St. Motion passed to accept the report of the Engineer on the water connection of Mr. Berger, to permit Mr. Berger to connectp after proper papers are signed. Letter read from the National Bank of Washington request- ing to place piling for foundation of their new building .out- sdde their property line. Motion passed to give permission by Engineers approval. Motion passed to instruct the clerk to write a letter to the King County Planning Commission in regard to the Lone Cedar Tree addition making application for water, they shall receive the water as requested. Motion passed to adjourn the meeting till Thursday at 8 P.M. for the preliminay hearing on the budget. " 445,41+- Garbage " 115. 50 continued. 6 r� September 20, 1956 Adjourned meeting for the purpose of having a prelinary hearing of the budget as proposed for 1957. present Mayor Mooney, Councilman Curran, Parsons, Pozzi, Scott, Shaffer`, Strain, Thornton; Budget was gone over and by motion passedcthe clerk was instructed to advertize a hearing of the Budget for tree next regular meeting, Qctober 1, 1956. New pay standards were introduced, and by motion -passed adopted as corrected and tope used in the 1957 budget. Motion passed to have Budget and Tax Lev*y ordinances presented next regulat meeting.
