Regular meeting of the City Council present Mayor Mooney
Councilmen Curran, Parsons, Pozzi, Scott , Shaffer, Strain,
Thornton;
Minutes read and approved of the last regular meeting;
Kelleher' s request for the use of the city court room
was recommended by the committee , and by motion passed
Mr. Kelleher was granted permission of the use of same
when it was not being used by the Police. Judge, and for
cases within this' local jurisdiction. Shaffer & Curran
voted ney on the motion.
Councilman Strain reported that a street light would be
installed on Hilltop ave . about 300 ft . North of James St,
Engineer Hiles Drake gave a report on Seattle Street .
that portion North of the Proposed Hauge Plat , the Street
Committee was to work more on the recommendation of the
grade.
Discussion on the tree on Hilltop ave was continued, if
Mr. Walker will be resposible for the tree it shall stand,
if not it should be removed.
Kendall was instructed once again to contact Mr. Walker
and improve the approch on to Hilltop Ave. off from James
Streets before the Bond will expire.

City will accept the street .
Motion passed to instruct the Engineer to lay out
Seattle street extended and present to the City Attorney
for deed purposes.
Motion passed to have the street committee discuss the
grade of Seattle Street with Mr. Miller, for a better
street.
Bids were opened and read for the purchase of two lawn
mowers, one for the Park, and one for the water department,
Bid received from Washington Turf and Toro Co of Seattle
One 761, mower for the Park $1,160.00 and One mower for the
Water Deaprtment 31« '59$. 50 plus sales tax. and if no
old equipment was to be accepted on this bid a $100.00
would be taken off the park mower. Mr. Coleman of Maple
Valley offered $200.00 for the old park mower, this bid
was also accepted in the Motion passed to award the bid
to the Washington Turf & Toro Co.
Motion passed to accept the School sewer as a part of
the sewer system.
Motion passed to instruct the City Engineer to obtain
rightaway up to 60ft . on James Street from Central Ave. No.
to Kennebeck.
City Treasurer informed the Council that 11 US Bonds
series G. have reached maturity and the last interest
will be available when the bonds are surrended. Motion
passed to instruct the Treasurer to surrender the Bonds
and place money in the funds that they were paid from.
Motion passed to have the finance committee investigate
Federal Planning Finance for various projects.
Motion passed to pay extra labor $1.75 per hour in
stead of the "'1. 50.
Motion passed to have the street forman blacktop 20 ft.
on Shinn St. near the tracks.
Motion passed to have the Engineer proceed with the LID
233 and for him to call for bids on same , to be opened
August 15th.
Motion passed to instruct the clerk to write a letter
to the Planning Commission for them to call for a hearing
for rezoning from residential to commerical.
Motion passed to instruct the City Attorney to draw
resolution for the creation of a LID for paving streets
and to work with the Engineer and. committee for the tmethod
and boundrys.
Motion passed for the Engineer to set boundry points in
the park property on the hill for the target range.
