Regular meeting of the City Council present Mayor Mooney,
Councilmen Curran, Parsons, Pozzi, Scott , Shaffer, Thornton;
. Minutes read of the last regular meeting and approved;

Councilman Scott reported on the swamp condition at crow St.
between 5th. Ave. and the old Interurban rightaway, and gave
- costs that would improve the condition, owing to the fact that
the cost would be so graat to make this improvement it was filed.
and a motion passed to have the street crew destroy the raft
that the kids had made.Motion was passed to to have City Attorney
and Engineer to gather information on a Sanitary Sewer System
for the south west portion of the city, this would relive a
lot of the drainage that inters the old slough in Crow St.
Motion passed to have the Street and Sanitation Committees
work out a program to disconnect' the storm drains from the
sanitary sewer system.
Motion passed to instruct the clerk to purchase transfer cases
for the office at the Treatmant Plant.
Motion passed to have a portion of . the treatment plant grounds
blacktoped where it would be to wet to plant lawn.
Motion passed to instruct the Clerk to write a letter to Mr.
Alden Bartell in regard to his hedge hanging out over the walk.
Councilman Scott reported on the Dean Street improvement, that
the committees recomendation was to cut down the existing
grade one font, the recommendation was by motion placed on file,
and to proceed with the improvement of the rest of the streets
on this motion Councilman Curran refrained from voting.
Councilman' Parsons reported on the Howard Mfg. Cots request
— to change the fire zone, and Mr. Thatcher read the parts in the
Building' Code that pertained to this question, and stated that
if a board of appeals were set up by the Mayor it may act on
the matter as they saw fit. Mayor Mooney will have an' appointmeent
of the members of a board at the next regular meeting, for
approval' of the council, and by motion passed the clerk was in-
structed to write Mr. Howard a letter in regard to the council' s
action so far on the matter.
Motion passed to have the Engineer write a letter to the
sewer contractor requesting him to complete the leak job on
Seattle Street, so that the owner of the Plat may proceed with
the improving of the street.
Councilman Pozzi reported on a street sweeper , and discussed
ways and means of purchase.
Ted. Strain, Bill Campbell, and Mrs. Knudtson was nominated a
for the vacant seat on the council, and by ballot cast Mr. Ted
Strain was elected to fill the vacancy.
Sidesewer contractors license was granted by Raymond A Higgins
by motion of the council , and Mayor and Clerk to Sign same.
Shell Oil Co requested permission to install asphaltic concrete
approahh and egress on North Central , and also on Pioneer for

their new service station. Motion passed to accept Engineer' s
recommendation on North Central and if they sign a waiver if
and whenn a LID might be formed to do a better job.Motion that
Pioneer job be denied as requested, and if they are willing to
be done as the Engineer recommends, with sidewalk and gutter.
Letter read from Mr. Novak of North Clak 8- Smith Street rel
questing the ditch be cleaned out between Clakk Ave. and Mill
Creek. Motion passed to have the street crew take care of the
request.
Resolution read and drawn by the State Highway Department
and by motion passed if approved by the City Engineer, for
the grades on the sidewalks along the North Central Highway.
Motion passed to approve the Stonecrest Plat by Ordinance
No. 903.
Motion passed to authorize Bonds against LID No.230 and for
the Mayor and Clerk to sign sameg Ordinance No. 904.
Hearing was ,held on the Stoneburner plat no objections,
hearing closed.

Motion. passed to continue hearing on petition on annexation of
land lying north of the city for 2 weeks, on the recommendation
of the city engineer.
Motion passed to have the clerk contact the contractor on
the water main job.
Mr. Campbell appeared before the council objecting to
pay 4 of the 6" water main that has to be laid so that he
may get water. Motion passed by roll call vote , unanimous
cast , that a six inch main be laid on James Street to serve
the Campbell property.
Motion passed to have the Engineer set stakes on Kenoshia
Street to let the School Board know the needs of the city to
improve and widen said street.
Motion passed for the street committee to look into the
tree on Hilltop ave.
Motion passed to have the Street Foreman get in touch with
Mk;L!:Walker and work out a suitable grade on Hilltop Ave.
