Report of officers presented and file(] ;
Recommendation of the water committee and Engineer that the
Council accept the bid for the laying of water mains of
Harbor Construction Company of Seattle , for the amount of
$6,406.86. Motion passed to award the bid to Harbor Construction
Co of Seattle .
Councilman Lamb reported that the material was incomplete
for the installation of the mercury-vapor street lights, and
he would check into the delay.
Mr. Pinketh of H.P.Pratt Co gave a short report on a report
that was requested by the council for the development of Rock
Creek for a larger water supply, and submitted an agreement
for study by the council. Motion passed to have the report
placed in the hands of the ,dater 8, Finance Committee for
study.
Motion past to instruct the clerk to call for bids on two
tennis courts for the Park grounds, at which time the Park
Borad submitted the plans 8 Specifications for ' samet Thornton
voted ney on the measure.
Letter of request from I�1r. Burdic of Burdicrs Feed Store
on East Smith Street , to obtain permmission to knock out the
curb and construct two drive-ins on a proposed parking lot.
Motion passed to give Mr. Burdic his request on the drive-ways
but maintain the island along the wall-, tobe 8ft . instead of
two as his sketch shows, and to following the instructions of
the City Engineer.
Letter received from Mr. Workman in-regard to his bid on
the Culvert that he was awarded, stating that he could not
accept the bid, because he had made a mistake and did not
include his labor cost . Motion passed to -reject all bids and
return .deposit checks to the other bidders and tetain Mr.
Workmans check, and call for bids again on the culvert.
Proposed Plat of Mr. Stoneburnerrs was submitted to the
Council, and a request for watermains if so platted. i•iotion
passed to submits plat to Planning Conunission for their
approval.
Hearing was declared opened on the plats of Mr. Littlef, and
Mr. Walkero, no objection to the plats so ordinance No. 886
read and adopted approving ,Walkerrs Addition to Kent, and
Ordinance No. 887 Moved and adopted approving Littlers Addn.
to Vent.
Claim for the loss of a washing machine agitator, by the
Garbage men, that thought it was of no use , because it was
laying on the garbage can. Motion passed to refer claim to
the City Attorney for study.
Call for applicants for a position of a Supervisor of
Utilities and streets.
Motion passed for the street light committee to have installed
two It2ercury-Vapor on East Bowe St.
