Regular meeting of the City Council present I1ayor Hooney, Councilmen Blessing, Randall, Schultz, Shaffer, Thornton; Minutes read and approved of the last regular meeting; Report of the Police Department presented and by motion placed on file ; 1,1otion passed to instruct the clerk to give a copy of Mr. Johnson' s complaint to Mr. Clements at the Treatment Pl<�nt im regard to the contractor f;oini on his property and sell- ing top soil from same. Motion passed to adopt Resolution No. 348 contract for I'lercury-Vapor lights, and the YI'layor and Clerk to sign same. Motion passed. to adopt Resolution No. 3ia.9 for power at the Sewage Treatment Plant , signed by the Nay-or and attest by the Clerk and the five year period to start Sept . 1, 1954. Letter read from t,,Iashington Cities in regard to the hear- ing held at the Tax Commission office at Ulynipia, where some cities were not complying Vibh the Tax Laws, on ,^dater and sewage revenue , after some discussion on the matter it decided to have an agent of the Commission visit our office in regard to the same matter, to asertain if' we are in compliance. Motion passed to instruct the clerk to write a letter to ale Excise Tax Commission to invite an agent of the Commission to the clerk' s office for further details on what to pay on and what not. Motion passed to instruct the City En ineer to prepare plans and specifcations for the construction of a culvert at Smith Street and Kennebeck, and to call for bids if the estimate was within the money in the budget , and to contact the people that have abuttin,-, property on Kerinebeck to see if they wish to improve the street , Jed to place their money in escrow with the clerk. City attorney reported on a septic tank on South State that was in bad workin", order, and cormmented on the charge for repairing the tank which is �; 10.00, and the clean out charge of 2.00 dollars.Also on the used fuel license that the city had to pay the state on the fuel the Street Grader used. Motion passed to instruct the En<jn(�e.r to male a study of the condition of the trunk sewer that passes underneath the N.P.Tracks at Smith Street .
