Regular meeting of the City Council present Mayor pro tem
Alex Thornton, Councilmen, Curran, Lamb, Randall, Schultz,
Shaffer, Thornton;
Minutes read and approved of the last regular meeting;

Report of officers presented and filed;
Councilman Thornton reported of the committees findings on
the request by petition for a stop sign on West Willis and Naden
Ave. , he said the Chief of Police checked on the records and
found no accidents at this point in the past, and the committee
recommended that the petition be denied. Motion passed to accept
the recommendation of the committee and the Chief of Police.
Letter read from a Phillip Botch an engineer requesting of
the council permission to hook to the CitVs water main at
Lake Meridian, and Black Diamond Road to erve the Winsor-
Leng Subdivision at this time they will need about 15 ,000
gallons of water per day. Motion passed to refer to the water
committee for recommndation at the next regular meeting.
Letter read from Carey and Krammer our Engineers on the
Treatment Plant requesting an additional "630.00 for the
Contractor for unforseen conditions in the ground at the
Plant site. Piotion passed to instruct the Mayor & Clerk to
sign the agreement for .1'630.00 over the contract.
License presented to the council for the use of certain
lots at the Kent Cemetary for the Construction of a small
building to house a transmitter, and a tower, and guy wires
for a .radio system for the hire Department. I'�'lotion passed to h
have the Mayor and Clerk sign same .
Ordinance No. 885 by motion passed the vote of the Council
present.
Motion passed to have the City Engineer look over the manholes
in the pipe that leads from the location of the treatment plant
to the river and surest a plan to over come the water from boill'4,-
ing up through the Vids at high water mark. Also for the Sanitation
Committee to make a study of the condition of the same pipe.
Letters read from the Pollution Control Commission and the
State Department of Health as to their approval on the Sewer
LID, No. 230 in regard to laying sewer mains near and over or
under water pipe and recommending that all old wood water pipe
be renewed where it is close to the new sewer line, and re-
commending certain type of sewer pipe .T4r. Kaeser the Contractor
by letter agrees to comply with the request of the Pollution
Control Commission for an extra cost of 120 per foot where needed.
Motion passed to accept the price per foot of Mr. Kaeser.
Motion passed for the Clerk & Engineer to study out a plan
for the people that want their side sewers brought to their pt—
property lines when the sewer is being constructed and the
cost spread over equal payments as their assessmnents, or
they may pay in cash if they so wish.
Motion passed to have the clergy: write a letter to Mr. Costello
for the fine job he is doing on the drainage ditch.
Motion passed for the City Engineer and the City Attorney
to work out a plan with the owners of property along the south
� _. side of Chicago Street , for a twenty foot wide strip where
needed, to make the improvement that is needed on Chicago St.
Motion passed to instruct the City Engineer to set stakes on
the south side of Chicago Street and notify the owners to be
prepared to move their fences and schrubs for the improvement
of Chicago Street.
Motion passed to install water mains 12ft . from the south bo
boundry of Chicago Street.
Motion for Engineer and Water Superintendent and Attorney to
prepare the water main layout for Knob Hill district , for the
purpose of cal.linr; for bids on the project .
Motion passed to instruct the clerk to call TvIr. Reyla of the
N.P.Depot in regard to the switching engines keeping the cross-
ings blocked at to long a periods.

Motion passed to have the clerk get in touch with the
fence material men for an estimate and a plan for a fence
around the small reservoir on Scenic Hill , for the
purpose of calling for bids.
