Regular meeting of the City Council present Mayor Mooney,
Councilmen Blessing, Curran, Lamb, Randall , Schultz,
Shaffer, Thornton;
Minutes read and approved of the last regular meeting;

Report of ,officers presented and filed;
Motion passed that the intent of the council was to pay
by cash for the contract of constructing of a sewer district.
Motion passed to award the bid to E.N.Hallgren Co, for the
valves. Motion passed to award the bid to the United States
Pipe & Foundry Co. for the 6000 ft. of cast iron pipe, boyth
awards as per bid.
Motion passed to award the bid for 5 Luminaires and mount-
ings to the Line Material Company as per bid and using Alt.
with 30 Amp. single pole multiple relay.
Motion passed to instruct the clerk to write a letter to
Mr. Braunschw&ig at 644 So. Second, for him to get rid of
his pigs and clean up his place.
Letters were read from the Kent SaEbyy Council in regard
to a crosswalk at the Peoples Bank Building on P�ieeker Street.
and for the Jacees to paint ,the traffic lanes twice per year.
Motion passed that a crosswalk was not feasable at this
time on account of the cost, because it would have tobe an
automatic devise for safoty.Motion passed to have the clerk
write a letter to the Jaceets in regard to the cost of the
street striping.
Ordinance No. 882 passed the vote of the council, in re-
gard to parking time. j
Ordinance No. 883 read on its first reading, creating
an emergency for the Garbage fund, and by motion passed
a resolution adopted setting a hearing on the 6th. day of
July 1954. '
Motion passed to instruct the clerk to write a letter to
the School Board in regard to a pi&ce of land from their
property to relocate Kenosia Street , and a copy to be mailed
to the Planning Commission.
City Attorney reported on a meeting he was at with the
powers to be on the condemnation suit that is pending with
the Power Company, the subject was weather or not a dis-
missal was in order at this time.
Mr. Nichols was present at the meeting requesting that
the $100.00 master license be revoked on schuffelboards
and other games that had no pay offs on the play'. Motion
passed for police & financee committees to make a study
for recommendation.
Mr. Sipes made a request to place wires on the South
side of the water building, for his trailer court , by
attaching to the building, and some discussion on the
matter a motion was passed to not allow the -wires to be
attached to the wall, Shaffer voting no.
Letter to Ostruske-Murphy Inc. informing them that
their claim for work=,_completed on the Treatment Plant
should be in the office prior to the first meeting of the j
month for payment.
Motion passed for the engineer to place levels for the
extension of 4th. ave. north.
Motion passed that the council declares its interitibfi
to seek development for 4th. ave. to tide North City Limits.
Motion passed to recess meeting until $TP.M. Thursday
June 24th. for the purpose of receving bids for a sewer
district emprovement.
