Regular meeting of the City Council present I,layor I -looney
Councilmen Blessing, Lamb;-".�andall, Schultz, Shaffer, Thornton;
Minuges read of the last regular meeting and approved;
Report of officers approved and placed on file;
A delkgation from Clinton Foods, Northwest Metals, Howard I-Ifg.
and Milwaukee Railroad was present at the meeting in regard to
a building permit that was applied for by Clinton Foods,
Northwest Metal and Howard Tlfg. Co owners objected on account
of it would have effect on them by blocking the only road into
thigr plants, the council requested a signal to be placed'at
the Milwaukee and Shinn Street crossing, if building program
would proceed, and Engineer Drake reported that the aera of
the building was far tck�great without having firewalls of
sprinklers. Tlotion passed to have the building permit issued
if the following compliances were exeottdd, the Milwaukee
Railroad Co to dedicate to tie city for street purposes the
roadway that was in question by Northwest Metals and IIowards,
a signal for car traffice to be installed by the Milwaukee at
the Shinn Street crossing, and sprinkles installed as the
building code regiires.
Petition received from owners of abutting property to vacate
certain portions of Shinn Street for an over head crossing at
sixth and Shinn for the use of Clinton Foods. !,lotion passed to
read Resolution setting a hearing date for the vacation. Motion
passed adopting resolution, and for the clerk to post notices
of a hearing to be held Feburay ist. at 81oclock P.Tl. in the
City Hall.
Motion passed to have Mr. Bell place insurance on our new
Garbage truck.
Resolution passed to transfer money from Current Current Exp.
Fund to the Garbage Fund for part payment of Garbage truck,
this transfer is a loan, and tobe paid back when the money
comes into the fund. .
Motion passed to permit the Gas Co to have a loading zone at
East Gowe St. and R.R.Ave.
Motion passed to instruct the clerk to write a letter to I.Ir.
John Hauge in regard to having old stoves and wares out on the
public walk night and day.
